Field Services Engineer
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their growing technical team. You will take ownership of post-sales technical support across a portfolio of CNC machining equipment, working directly with end-user clients to ensure their machinery operates at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver post-sales technical support, including installation, commissioning, testing, adjustment, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrading of CNC machining equipment and peripherals.
- Plan and coordinate service activities — investigating and resolving customer-reported technical issues and proactively eliminating future operational difficulties.
- Examine machinery, components, and work orders; liaise with equipment operators to diagnose problems and determine whether faults are mechanical or human in origin.
- Analyse all available technical information to identify root causes and recommend or implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team, effectively coordinating workloads and priorities.
- Provide technical guidance to management and factory engineers on equipment defects, customer satisfaction issues, product performance, and product improvement suggestions.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience within a machine tool environment.
- Working knowledge of Fanuc machines and CNC control systems.
- Understanding of PLC systems and schematics.
- Ability to operate a forklift truck and manual lifting equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
