Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Experienced (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Model Based System Engineer to join our Product Security Engineering (PSE) Product Development and Innovation team in Everett, WA or Seattle, WA. This position will be responsible for ensuring security, safety, and resilience of all digitally connected systems, focused on partnering with BCA and Enterprise Digital Transformation Engineering teams to develop tools and processes, to be used to provide security artifacts for airplane and system development in support of certification.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new Digital Engineering features and capabilities for the Boeing Commercial Airplanes Product Security Engineering function
  • Ensure and maintain the quality of the MBSec Solution Kit (SK) models, processes, and templates
  • Manage PSE Digital Engineering project access control, permissions management, project structure, and to help implement related Access Control Policies
  • Work with PSE Enterprise and MBSec Technical Lead, Development Lead, and Scrum-Master to define and execute “releases” of the MBSec SK and other PSE Digital Engineering capabilities per the PSE Digital Engineering technical roadmap
  • Work with the MBSec Development Lead and Scrum-Master to define new features to add and align within the PSE Digital Engineering technical roadmap
  • Work with the PSE Engineering Integration Lead to align MBSec SK, and other PSE Digital Engineering tools, with defined enterprise and BCA PSE Engineering Capabilities and engineering activities
  • Participate in peer reviews and technical reviews related to PSE Digital Engineering features and capabilities
  • Manage the deployment and implementation of MBSec across multiple BCA programs for Product Security Engineering
  • Develop and define training materials, courses, and pathways for PSE Digital Engineering tools and capabilities.
  • Train and teach PSEs from across the enterprise in the use of PSE Digital Engineering tools and capabilities
  • Participate as a contributor to the Enterprise PSE community for Model Based Solution Kits and Design Practices
  • Work in and utilize agile methodologies for planning and execution of tasks across the team
  • Define and craft the technical capabilities roadmap for PSE Digital Engineering

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering tools and languages such as Enterprise Architecture, Cameo, MagicDraw, UML/SysML, 3DX, CATIA

Position Overview:

Seeking an Experienced Product Lifecycle Process Engineer to support the installation and validation of loadable software on aircraft and in lab or production environments. This role collaborates with Design Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure procedures meet hardware/software requirements and safety standards, and to deliver clear, repeatable loading procedures, robust troubleshooting, and up-to-date user guides. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on Airplane Systems experience, strong technical writing skills, and a commitment to operational reliability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Install loadable software on aircraft platforms and bench test environments in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Develop clear, step-by-step loading procedures and instructions for both on-aircraft and bench scenarios.
  • Collaborate closely with Design Engineers for each system to ensure loading procedures align with hardware/software requirements and safety standards.
  • Validate and verify loading procedures through testing, design reviews, and field trials; capture results and implement improvements.

  • Leads or assists performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Integrate cross-functionally within the Systems IPT and with stakeholders across the program to define framework, strategy, criteria, and content to satisfy regulatory guidance and achieve certification milestones.
  • Review regulatory requirements and evaluate impacts to products and schedules
  • Lead development of compliance documents and other artifacts that establish airworthiness and safety
  • Lead a team of individual contributors: coordinate daily work, communicate status and help needed, align priorities to key milestones, and articulate constraints and resource needs as they arise.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace certification, regulatory compliance, or systems integration with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing certification documents and artifacts for submission to regulatory authorities (FAA and/or equivalent), and ensuring those artifacts meet regulatory expectations.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience reviewing regulatory and customer requirements and evaluating impacts to products, systems, and services
  • Experience leading and coordinating the day-to-day work of individual contributors
  • Strong technical writing, problem-solving, and communication skills; demonstrated ability to present technical positions to leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Master's degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Familiarity with FAA, EASA, and other international regulatory frameworks, advisory material, and airworthiness standards
  • Experience leading certification efforts for integrated systems (avionics, flight controls, propulsion, mission systems) across large-scale programs
  • Experience working in a global regulatory environment and leading cross-cultural teams
  • Experience using compliance management tools and document control systems to compile and track certification artifacts
