Build a career where engineering meets joy—selling iconic rides to leading theme parks and zoos nationwide.

Are you a B2B sales professional who thrives on long-cycle, consultative sales? Ready to learn a specialized industry from an experienced VP while building relationships with major theme park operators and zoos across the country?

The Opportunity

Join a 60+ year U.S. manufacturer of amusement rides and people movers—backed by long-term private equity ownership focused on sustainable growth. This isn't a transactional sales role. You'll develop deep technical expertise in trains, trams, and carousels while managing a growing portfolio of zoo and aquarium accounts.

About the Role

The role combines new business development with relationship management in a tight-knit industry where reputation and long-term client partnerships drive success. Sales cycles range from three months to several years depending on product complexity.

What makes this role unique:

  • Learn from an experienced sales leader with established relationships across major theme park operators
  • Intensive 6-month onboarding with hands-on product training and client introductions
  • Clear growth path toward managing a $10M-$15M annual portfolio
  • Work on projects ranging from local zoos to global theme park destinations
  • Be part of launching new electric people-mover products into fresh markets

What You'll Do

  • Generate new business (60%) while nurturing existing client relationships (40%)
  • Conduct on-site visits to assess needs, measure specifications, and develop tailored proposals
  • Manage full sales cycles from prospecting through contract negotiation
  • Maintain accurate records and activity tracking in the company CRM system
  • Build technical knowledge alongside engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Travel ~50% annually to client sites and industry trade shows

What You'd Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years B2B sales experience
  • Capital equipment or long sales cycle background (6+ months)
  • Technical or mechanical background that supports learning complex products
  • Self-discipline to work independently
  • Willingness to relocate to Wichita, KS (minimum 2-year commitment on-site, then open to remote/hybrid)

What Sets You Apart:

  • Genuine curiosity about how things work
  • Consultative approach—you listen before prescribing
  • Comfortable building relationships over months/years, not days
  • Humble enough to bring in technical experts when needed
  • Professional presence appropriate for client-facing interactions at all organizational levels

Why Wichita?

Lower cost of living (35% cheaper housing), strong aerospace/manufacturing hub, 19-minute average commute, and quality of life that lets you actually afford to own land and build roots.
