Job Duties :

Data Acquisition, Cleaning & Preprocessing

• Assist in collecting, validating, and preprocessing structured and unstructured datasets from internal and third-party financial systems.
• Perform data quality checks, resolve anomalies, and maintain metadata using SQL, Python (Pandas), and Excel.

Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, outliers, and correlations within financial and operational datasets.
• Support the preparation of data summaries, distribution checks, and hypothesis validations.

Automation & Data Pipeline Support

• Assist in developing automation scripts and data pipelines using Python, Excel macros, and RPA tools (e.g., Blue Prism) to streamline data ingestion and transformation.
• Support version control and CI/CD practices using Git repositories.

Predictive Modeling & Forecasting

• Support senior data scientists in building and validating statistical and machine learning models to forecast revenue trends, customer churn, or financial health.
• Participate in refining time-series models and basic regressions using Python (Scikit-learn, StatsModels).

Financial & Business Analysis

• Contribute to financial modeling by evaluating key metrics (e.g., EBITDA, revenue growth, margins) and integrating external macroeconomic indicators into models.
• Work alongside business analysts to align technical models with stakeholder requirements.

Data Visualization & Dashboarding

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or Python (Matplotlib, Seaborn) to communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
• Automate reporting templates and visualization tools for monthly and quarterly updates.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for model assumptions, workflows, data dictionaries, and QA protocols.
• Ensure data practices align with internal governance policies and industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX).

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, data engineering, and business strategy teams to align analytical efforts with organizational goals.
• Participate in sprint meetings and contribute to shared knowledge repositories.

Model Monitoring & Feedback Loops

• Assist in tracking model performance and accuracy post-deployment using standard KPIs (e.g., RMSE, MAE).
• Help integrate user feedback and error analysis into model retraining cycles.

Professional Development

• Attend internal workshops and training sessions on data science tools and methodologies.
• Stay informed of advancements in machine learning, financial modeling, and analytics platforms.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center seeks an outstanding leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) within the Section of Surgical Sciences. This senior leadership position reports directly to the Surgeon-in-Chief and Chair of the Section of Surgical Sciences and requires an individual with broad experience and ability to manage the multiple missions of a major academic department: clinical excellence, research, and education. The successful candidate should be eligible for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at VUMC is nationally recognized for its comprehensive clinical services, innovative research, and exceptional training programs. Our mission is to provide the highest quality patient care, educate the next generation of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and advance the specialty through groundbreaking research. Clinical expertise spans the full scope of OMFS, including dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic and craniofacial surgery, TMJ disorders, oral pathology and oncology, implantology and reconstructive surgery, and management of facial trauma. The department’s robust clinical practice includes more than 1,000 operating room cases annually and is supported by a dedicated team of eight clinical faculty. In addition to oral and maxillofacial surgeons, the faculty includes adult and pediatric general dentists, and craniofacial orthodontist supporting a very busy and successful hospital-based practice.

Our CODA-accredited residency program attracts top candidates nationwide and prepares graduates for leadership roles in academic medicine/dentistry and private practice. Trainees benefit from exposure to advanced surgical techniques, interdisciplinary care, and robust research opportunities. Fellowship training in specialized areas such as craniofacial surgery and head and neck oncology is also available.

The Department supports a dynamic research enterprise focused on craniofacial development, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and clinical outcomes. Position Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialists plays a key role in implementing the Global Strategic Sourcing Strategy for the Commodities under his/her responsibility. Along with that Strategy, responsibilities include: Sending out “Requests for Quotes”; Analyzing Data; Negotiating Price, Payment Terms, Freight Terms, Stocking Programs, and Formal Contracts all in accordance with Companies’ Goals and Objectives.

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist reports to the Director, Global Strategic Sourcing, and will be located in the manufacturing facility assigned. You will work directly with the cross functional departments at your location including, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Finance, and Safety.

Required travel of up to 30% of the time both domestically and internationally.

Key Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Responsible for all Sourcing Activities for your location
• Manage Supplier Relationship and Communication
• Engage with Internal Customers to understand their needs and requirements as it relates to your Suppliers.
• Be responsive to escalation requirements from your internal customers as it relates to Supplier communication or urgency.
• Work with Engineering and Product Development on new Product Launches.
• Manager all RFQ’s with Suppliers for timely completion.
• Analyze all data in Excel Format and present results to internal customers.
• Negotiate Price, Freight, Terms, Payment Terms, Stocking Programs, and Contracts for all new RFQ’s in accordance with Company’s Goals and Objectives.
• Qualify and Approve all new Suppliers with Quality and Engineering.
• Order Samples and PPAP requirements as needed.
• Once Contract is finalized, communicate next steps to Material Planners for Production requirements.
• Monitor Supplier Performance for On Time Delivery, Quality, Lead-time, and Cost Savings.
• Send out Scorecards to top 10 Suppliers Monthly.
• Plan, develop, and implement Cost Reduction plans for all commodities.
• Lead Working Capital and Supply Chain efficiencies with all your Suppliers.
• Supports inventory management optimization initiatives.
• Prepares cost analyses based on the total cost of ownership.
• Makes recommendations to optimize the supply chain and/or operations based on data.
• Develops / participate in make-buy studies.
• Support Production Meetings and the Planners as needed, and help develop strategies for improvement.

Job Requirements/ Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement
• 5 years’ Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience Negotiating with Suppliers to establish a win-win environment.
• Extensive experience collecting and analyzing data with strong Excel skills
• Experience in driving and implementing Cost Savings for favorable PPV.
• Working knowledge of product standard costing
• Extensive experience in working with cross functional teams
• Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment desirable
• Working knowledge of Just-In-Time practices (JIT), Kanban, Min Max, and other inventory planning methods desirable
• Experience in a low volume – high mix environment desirable
• Experience working with global and cross-cultural teams desirable
• International business experience is a plus
• Indirect spend experience a plus
• Knowledge of procurement trends, strategic sourcing processes and best practices, e.g. reverse auctions, e-sourcing tools is a plus.
