Prostar Mining is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Mine Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This position requires technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety, and experience in underground hard rock operations.

The purpose of this job is to optimize the safe extraction of ore and waste at East Tennessee mine operation through the supervision and control of mining department employees and contractors – within the constraints of agreed capital and operating budgets, and the mine plan and scheduling.

Safety, Health & Environment:

• Promote and demonstrate safe behavior at all times and lead by example.
• Comply with the site’s standards and procedures in EHS.
• Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed EHS goals in support of the department, site and company standards.
• Demonstrates leadership in EHS through personal behaviors and conversations and report all EHS incidents and participate in EHS initiatives, reviews and investigations.
• Take full ownership of responsibility for the safety of all personnel, including yourself, at Nyrstar Tennessee Mines.
• Taking an active role to ensure that regulatory obligations and standards are met.

Function/ Production:

• Ensure the mine development and operational activities are achieved to plan specifications.
• Ensuring resources are available and utilized in an effective and efficient manner to achieve budget.
• Ensuring costs are controlled to meet budget and where possible reduced to achieve savings.
• Support the Operations Manager and lead mine operations to positive growth and improvement of all work activities and performance standards.
• Have awareness for recognizing and then suggesting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Any other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.
• Ensuring ongoing effective people management of staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and development through training of employees.
• Take a leading role in the employment and development of contractors and staff.
• Ensuring personnel are assisted to achieve their full potential and rewarded accordingly.
• Ensuring all employees attend work in a punctual manner, fit for work, and that correct procedures are followed in cases where absences from work may occur.
• Maintaining a sound relationship with the Mine Technical Services department and work with the Metallurgy department in ensuring production is in line with budget/forecast.
• Ensuring people are developed, trained and coached to obtain optimum efficiencies.
• Ensuring that performance management and discipline are conducted to maintain optimum production and sound industrial relations.

Supervision (if applicable):

• Demonstrated competence in coaching, succession planning mentoring and providing feedback to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize mining activities and mining personnel to achieve results.

Essential:

• B.Sc. in Mining Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in supervision of mining operations.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in underground hard rock mining.
• Experience in contract management desirable.
• Understanding of technical and operating processes relevant to mine planning and scheduling.
• Sound understanding of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities.

We are looking for an experienced leader in experimentation methodology to join our core Applied ML team. The Applied AI and Machine Learning team handles large-scale data to support many business areas. We develop a cohesive navigation experience across channels and web pages. Our goal is to simplify and improve the shopping experience for everyday entrepreneurs worldwide, helping them quickly find what they need on our website.

In this leadership role, you will enhance the strategic direction of our experimentation methodology efforts. You will use simulations and reinforcement learning, ensuring consistency with business objectives, and supporting cross-functional teams in data-informed experimentation solutions. You will guide teams working at the intersection of large-scale foundation models, multi-agent systems, and RL-based optimization, encouraging a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

What you'll get to do...

• Define and drive the strategic roadmap for AI driven experimentation methodology, aligning initiatives with organizational goals and business impact
• Supervise and mentor teams of scientists and engineers, providing technical guidance and career development
• Promote meticulous experimentation, including the development of simulation environments and robust evaluation frameworks using machine learning and RL
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate research outcomes into scalable, production-ready experimentation solutions
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and cultivate a collaborative, innovative environment across the Applied ML team and broader organization

Your experience should include...

• 3+ years of professional experience managing and leading high-performing teams, including mentoring and coaching team member to achieve organizational goals
• 5+ years of professional experience in experimentation methodology, Reinforcement Learning, and software development 
• 2 + years of professional with experimentation platforms, data pipelines, and analytical tools to guide methodological rigor
• A deep understanding of statistical principles, causal inference, and experimental design for large-scale digital products
• A track record of partnering effectively with experimentation platform teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to drive data-informed decision-making
• 5+ years of professional experience translating complex statistical concepts into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences
• The ability to define and implement a vision for experimentation best practices across diverse product areas

You might also have...

• Master's in computer science or equivalent quantitative fields

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team delivering critical AI platform capabilities while mentoring engineers to deliver quality software efficiently.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (product, design, and engineering leaders) to define and execute the GoCaaS roadmap and strategic initiatives.
• Drive platform excellence by ensuring reliability, scalability, and optimal developer experience for internal AI consumers.
• Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, observability, and secure software development across the organization.

Your experience should include...

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in engineering management or tech lead roles.
• Proven leadership of backend/platform teams delivering production-scale services.
• Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed systems expertise.
• Hands-on programming skills in Python, Go, or Node.js with CI/CD and observability experience.
• Leadership and project management abilities, including stakeholder management and cross-functional project delivery.

• AI/ML Infrastructure Experience - Working with LLMs, RAG systems, or broader AI/ML infrastructure.
• Container Orchestration - Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
