Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Network Operations – Market Lead for a very exciting Direct Hire opportunity with a fast growing company in the telecommunications (Fiber/OSP) industry. This is a hybrid role and requires this person to sit in Orlando or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
Overall Purpose:
- Directs all outside plant engineering, planning, design, and construction activities in a geographical area.
- This is a supervisory role with responsibility for directing; planning; apportioning the market's build responsibilities, including the work of employees including interviewing, selecting, and training; establishing and monitoring attainment of objectives; coaching and assessing performance; and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory policy.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Approves or recommends approval of long and short- range planning, specific and routine authorizations, including plans and specifications.
- Responsible for scheduling of work offers and the managing of the Outside Plant (OSP) budget. Responsible for contract negotiations for the performance of outside plant construction engineering and installation/repair of a specific area.
- Responsible for the operational effectiveness of provisioning OSP facilities relative to customer service activation and assurance.
- Directs and controls capital budget for outside plant for specific market area.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of high-speed broadband service in assigned geography through general contractor partner.
- The job has direct and indirect supervisory responsibility for employees below Director level.
- Leader will directly manage the work performed by employees, contractors, vendors and or partners.
Education:
Typically, a bachelor's degree in Math, Science or Engineering preferred or relevant industry experience.
Experience:

Pay Range: $140-$160k plus bonus depending on experience. The Agile Hardware Solutions (AHS) Department is seeking a Mechanical Dimensional Management Engineer, located in Tucson, AZ (Onsite)

The Mechanical Dimensional Management (DM) Engineer is part of the Producibility Team within Agile Hardware Solutions. The DM Engineer collaborates directly with Mechanical Engineering, Materials & Processes and Design & Drafting from the Mechanical Products Team along with Operations, Quality and Supply Chain peers, and suppliers to implement mechanical producibility improvements on new and emerging programs, and upgrades to existing programs.
The team executes tolerance optimization through primarily 3D tolerance and variation analysis and works with the design team to influence the final design. Early engagement in the conceptual stage and throughout the development process will ensure that our designs are optimized with respect to tolerance controls and methods of manufacture. The DM engineer plays an essential part in reducing product cost and ensuring functional quality.
What You Will Do
As a member of the Dimensional Management and Producibility Team, you may support the team in the following ways:
Perform detailed 3D complex dimensional tolerance analyses and review 1D tolerance analyses using various tools to evaluate design requirements of new and existing designs to calculate design margin / capability, and provide recommendations while adhering to cost, schedule, and manufacturing constraints.
Work with product teams to develop coordinated datum flow and document via drawings including interface control drawings (ICDs).
Apply, encode and decode Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) on various technical data packages.
Contribute to the development and training of the practical application of GD&T, tolerance analysis methods, and tools.
Where applicable become recognized as the Dimensional Management Lead on a program to coordinate various aspects of the Dimensional Management Closed Loop Process while supporting Critical Item Initiatives.
Function as a self-starter while exercising considerable latitude in determining the strategic objectives and methods of achieving Dimensional Management goals.
Where empowered within a program, offer assistance developing inspection plans for both internal inspection and as required by suppliers for compliance with specifications.
Qualifications You Must Have

- Quickly addressing production issues related to materials and processes, ensuring root causes of issues are understood and solutions are robust and cost effective

- Actively participating in daily production meetings
- Collaborating with Factory personnel
- Notifying the Materials Management Team of any potential materials obsolescence or supply chain interruptions
- Assisting the Process Engineer working with Materials & Process Engineering (M&PE) to quickly address problem buys and obsolete materials. This includes identifying end users, determining material requirements, finding alternatives (drive testing as needed), ensuring new materials will work in existing processes and using the opportunity to drive to common materials

The selected candidate will perform and/or assist in the performance of Parts Engineering, Components Engineering or Applications Engineering tasks supporting programs in the Proposal, System Design Description, Low Rate Initial Production, Production and Support phases. Position will require day to day interface with Designers, Contracts, Estimating, Supply Chain, Program Management, and other disciplines.
This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do:
- Understand and/or generate a program statement of work (SOW) and other defined customer component application requirements.
- Develop and/or sustain a proactive Obsolescence Management process to deliver cost saving obsolescence mitigation strategies and solutions.
- Drive resolution through support or execution of lifetime buys, selections of alternate parts, redesign efforts or other mitigation strategies and will facilitate and support contract negotiations, basis of estimates, and supplier statements of work for proposal efforts.
- Interact with Program and customer leadership on a regular basis to communicate status of mitigation strategies.
- Conduct trade study analysis help identify cost effective obsolescence driven cut in points for proposed unit redesigns.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience with any combination of the following:
- Experience with proactive and reactive component obsolescence management methodologies.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and presentation skills to adequately discuss system impact of component obsolescence issues.
- Experience with project management working with schedules, costs, and integration of stakeholder needs throughout the obsolescence process.
- Financial and Contract Management experience with proposals, BOE, EVMs, SOWs, CLINs and CDRLs.
- Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs.
- Risk and Opportunity business case analysis experience supporting sustainment vs redesign cut in decisions.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related science or engineering discipline
- Ability to navigate multiple complex processes and tools.
- Understanding of the application of technical theories and concepts as they apply to electronic components and the parts management field.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hierarchy definition.
- Knowledge of component failure modes by commodity
- Knowledge of Component MIL drawings, standards, test specifications, and associated QPLs and QMLs
- Knowledge of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in military, and aerospace flight applications
- Knowledge of analog design and analysis, general knowledge of digital circuitry and interfaces
- Excellent communication skills to interface with other Integrated Product Team members, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Operations, and Supplier Engineering.
- Capable of supporting regular customer interactions including but not limited to leadership engagements, responding to proposal requests and contract negotiations.
- Outstanding organizational, presentation and technical skills.
- Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize responsibilities.
- Willingness to support occasional travel.
