Business Analysts evaluate business processes, identify opportunities for improvement through technology solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements. They analyze data, develop functional specifications, and facilitate communication between business units and Information Technology teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Job Duty 1 -
Conduct interviews, workshops, and reviews to elicit, clarify, and validate business needs, objectives, and constraints for Information Technology projects and initiatives.

Job Duty 2 -
Develop and maintain business requirements documentation, including user stories, use cases, process flows, and functional specifications, to guide Information Technology development and implementation.

Job Duty 3 -
Analyze and model data, workflows, and systems to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and enhancement in alignment with business goals.

Job Duty 4 -
Facilitate communication and collaboration between business users, Information Technology teams, and project stakeholders to ensure shared understanding, alignment, and successful project outcomes.

Job Duty 5 -
Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and feasibility studies to evaluate proposed Information Technology solutions, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies for decision-making.

Job Duty 6 -
Support testing activities, user acceptance testing, and system validation to validate requirements, verify functionality, and ensure alignment with business needs and expectations.

Job Duty 7 -
Provide input on Information Technology solution design, configuration, and implementation, ensuring that business requirements are met, and solutions deliver value and address key business challenges.

Job Duty 8 -
Stay informed about industry trends, technology innovations, and best practices in business analysis, applying continuous learning and knowledge sharing to drive process improvement and professional growth.

Job Duty 9 -
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, processes, and systems to enable effective Information Technology solutions and improvements.

Educational Requirements
Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Two or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.

• Demonstrated experience performing business process analysis, including documenting current state workflows and designing future state processes.
• Proven ability to identify process inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities, and recommend practical solutions.
• Experience facilitating process discovery sessions or workshops with cross functional stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business processes into clear functional requirements and distinguish between process issues and system issues.
• Experience developing process documentation, such as process maps, SOPs, or job aids, to support operational adoption.
• Familiarity with process improvement or continuous improvement practices (formal methodologies a plus but not required.

Preferred candidates will bring a strong business process perspective and experience improving how work is performed across people, process, and technology.

SKILLS
This job requires a working knowledge of standard documentation processes, business system architecture and associated technologies. Skills in data organization and analysis, problem solving, systems documentation and report writing as applied within assigned system(s) is required as are skills in cross communication between functional user and technical groups.

Other Required Qualifications
Position requires the ability to pass a drug/alcohol pre-screening; may require working competently with dangerous materials and in a dangerous environment, such as around or on rotating machinery, live electrical circuits, hazardous materials, high-pressure liquids and gas, and bot surfaces. In addition, it may require lifting heavy objects of up to 75 pounds, and working in confined spaces, noisy environments, and elevated locations (such as climbing extension ladder and other types of ladders; or using scaffolding) either inside or outside of a building. During adverse weather, activities may require extensive after hours work or callback. This job may require wearing a full-face respirator in accordance with Georgia Tech campus policies and procedures. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining records, documents, and financial data that encompass a variety of financial activities, typically including fund accounts, payroll and benefits, accounts reconciliation, and similar supporting functions The associate also performs professional accounting work and other duties as assigned

Job Duty 1 - Research and ensure appropriate fund accounting procedures have been followed for compliance with Federal and State laws and university policy
Job Duty 2 - Audit, analyze, and verify fiscal records and reports Prepare financial and statistical reports, reconcile general ledger accounts and assist in preparing annual budgets Maintains complex spreadsheets
Job Duty 3 - Perform standard review of accounts for proper handling of transactions for designated area
Job Duty 4 - Perform data entry relative to designated accounts; audit and review data entry and reports for accuracy

Public Services

The Public Services department provides 24/7 support to the Georgia Tech Library community. The team is responsible for staffing the INFO Desk, chat, phone, Gadgets office, and ticket support for anyone needing Library assistance. The team is the first line of support for Library inquiries and is deeply involved in the service provisions of the library. Public Services is also responsible for Gadgets, the Georgia Tech Library's equipment lending service.

Responsible for library customer support (in person and electronic) which includes: providing assistance with myriad library services, providing bibliographic instruction and referrals, assistance with accessing library content and shared resources, providing user account management, and assisting with various technologies. Provides access and reference services support to GT library patrons, including fulfillment, reference, and multimedia. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty, students, staff, unit management, external communities, all internal and external Georgia Tech Library patrons. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty, students, unit staff; all internal and external Georgia Tech Library patrons. This position will supervise: N/A

Job Duty 1 - Proactively engaging and assisting library users in obtaining requested materials. Answers Customer Support Tickets. Provides assistance in requesting materials from offsite storage facility and shared resource providers. Direct users to library spaces, expertise, and resources. Assist users with lending technology reservations and instruct on the use of various media and audiovisual equipment.
Job Duty 2 - Use a variety of library-specific software programs to fulfill requests and update user records, switching between multiple system interfaces as necessary; systems including but not limited to: Alma, Primo, Student Information System (Banner), customer issue tracking system (Jira), and various databases and library resources.
Job Duty 3 - Participate in a variety of library projects and initiatives. Engage in learning opportunities with other Library areas to gain a broader knowledge of the services the organization provides.

About the role
