Job Summary

The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) is a technical, escalation‑focused role responsible for advanced troubleshooting, environment validation, and root cause analysis across application, endpoint, and network layers. This role supports complex customer issues that require deeper technical investigation beyond standard product workflows.

The TSE role requires strong foundational endpoint and operating system troubleshooting skills aligned to CompTIA A+ level knowledge (or equivalent), along with networking fundamentals aligned to CompTIA Network+ level knowledge (or equivalent). The Support Engineer differentiates product defects from environmental, endpoint, and network‑related causes and provides complete diagnostic evidence prior to escalation to Engineering or Product teams.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as an escalation point (L2/L3) for complex technical issues raised by Product Support Representatives (PSRs).
  • Conduct detailed endpoint diagnostics, including OS configuration, workstation requirements, drivers, resource utilization, and client-side dependencies.
  • Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues affecting application performance, including DNS, ports, firewall rules, latency, and packet loss.
  • Analyze logs, system outputs, and telemetry to identify root causes across applications, environment, and infrastructure layers.
  • Validate customer environments prior to escalation, ensuring complete reproduction steps, logs, and diagnostic details are documented.
  • Participate in Sev1 and Sev2 incident response efforts, including incident bridge calls, as required.
  • Maintain end-to-end ownership of escalated cases through resolution, providing timely and accurate updates to stakeholders and customers.
  • Identify recurring issues and contribute to long-term resolution through documentation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.

Knowledge & Technical Requirements

What You Will Do:

  • Support site production by working safely, efficiently, and with a strong customer focus,
  • Develop and implement solutions for complex problems, manage external vendors, and be available for emergency situations.
  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance programs while fostering positive relationships with operations teams.
  • Manage multiple projects and daily tasks, meet deadlines, and develop actionable plans to achieve departmental and distribution goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety programs and procedures, maintaining high standards in both safety and operational performance.
  • Develop business plans, provide strategic guidance, and oversee successful plan implementation.
  • Assist in setting and monitoring budgets to align with organizational objectives.
  • Deliver constructive feedback to enhance team performance, including conducting written performance appraisals, managing disciplinary actions, and up to employee termination when necessary.
  • Mentor facility associates by motivating, guiding, and supporting them to reach their goals while consistently encouraging exceptional performance.
  • Conduct project planning, cost analysis, and resource allocation for operational efficiency.
  • Promote and maintain good housekeeping practices across all facilities.

What You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, vocational, or technical training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a lead Maintenance Technician or similar role (required).


Physical Requirements:

  • Move up to 75 pounds of various shaped and sized loads.
  • Be able to effectively use all hand tools and equipment required for the position for the duration of the shift. Some tools require repetitive motions.
  • Sit at a desk for prolonged periods, at times the entirety of the shift.
  • Stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Climb up stairs and ladders of tall heights at times over 100 feet tall.
  • Able to work in tight and confined spaces.
  • Able to climb over crossovers while the product is moving.
  • Be prepared to work nights and weekends as needed.

Job Location: Ocala, FL


Shift: The shift for this position is 6am to 630pm Thursday through Sunday. Candidate must be OK with this shift to be considered for this position.


Salary: $125,000/year

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of switchboard designers and engineers
  • Oversee engineering design activities for low-voltage switchboards, junction boxes, busways, and related electrical assemblies
  • Drive continuous improvement in product design, quality, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Review and approve design packages, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards aligned with UL, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and IEEE codes
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and product support teams to support project execution
  • Support new product development initiatives and emerging technologies
  • Partner with leadership to plan engineering capacity and prioritize projects


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in switchgear or switchboard design
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and switchgear components
  • Understanding of industry standards including UL, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and IEEE
  • Ability to lead engineering teams and manage multiple priorities
