We are currently looking for a BIM Technician to be based out of Tampa, FL reporting to the Drafting Manager. This person will be responsible for working with the project team to develop accurate and complete modeling drawing sets. The BIM Technician will ensure the integrity of project drawings while maintaining privileged information per the customer and company requirements.



What you'll do:




  • Accurately identify product specifications and understand of detail assemblies and their application for installation.
  • Create or revise/update construction drawings, maintaining a tracking log of drawings.
  • Review drawings for accuracy and scope of work, ensuring quality of final drawings.
  • Collaborate with team and customers to ensure that projects are successfully completed, and best practices/technical issues are addressed.
  • Run the multi trade coordination for clashes to assist project team with the design process.
  • Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs using Navisworks Manage.
  • Research ways to continuously improve our process including providing insight into new time saving methodologies and best practices.
  • Manage, maintain, and update BIM Project documents.


What you'll bring:




  • Bachelor's (preferred) or Associates Degree in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) related field with 1 to 3 years of industry experience.
  • 1+ years' experience in 3D Revit or 3D AutoCAD.
  • Technical certificates in Drafting and ED BIM Modeling training (preferred).
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit, CAD, and BIM procedures (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with Overhead coordination process including 3D Modeling utilizing Revit in project environment, Project As-builts and turnover for Facility management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, CAD and BIM systems including Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit Suite, BIM 360, Veo, Bluebeam, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Within 3 months, you'll:




  • Complete the onboarding material and training on companies' products and drafting processes.
  • Collecting information from multiple plans and incorporating them into a model which can be used to build structural support.
  • Produce 2D shop drawings and 3D models projects with assistance of PM and BIM Designer.
  • Complete Atkore Immersion process.


Within 6 months, you'll:




  • Communicate effectively with PM's and other team members in order to gather the information needed for each project.
  • Develop strong knowledge of the companies' products and produce accurate designs based on each project needs.
  • Assist with BIM Designer to coordination meeting and be part of BIM project development at different phases: modeling, cleaning clashes and producing shop drawings.


Within 12 months, you'll:




  • Produce structural models and drawings using Revit and manage coordination projects.
  • Manipulate and develop CAD library components for AutoCAD and Revit or other related software.
  • Independently handle BIM project from start to finish by assisting to BIM Coordination, performing clash detection, and resolving coordination issues.

The Opportunity

The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine (UCF COM) is seeking exceptional candidates for two full-time faculty positions within the Department of Medicine's Aerospace Medicine program at the assistant, associate or professor of medicine rank. These positions are available in either the tenure or non-tenure track. Candidates will contribute to the academic missions of education, research, and clinical services.

The successful candidates will engage in teaching activities across undergraduate and graduate programs, including the development of new courses, and collaboration with interdisciplinary faculty. In addition, they will actively contribute to research endeavors and secure extramural funding to support innovative aerospace medicine initiatives. The chosen candidates will be tasked to:


  • Expand the UCF COM aerospace medicine research program, with a focus on hypothesis-driven investigator-initiated externally funded studies. This will be facilitated by a robust human research team and extensive logistic administrative support.


  • Another aim is collaborative research and technology development with our faculty colleagues in the College of Optics and Photonics (e.g., for laser devices) and the College of Engineering and Computer Science, among the 12 other colleges.


  • Support the development of a new Aerospace and Extreme Environments Medical Systems Integration and Rapid Prototyping Laboratory.


  • Design, develop, and conduct experiments in the domain of aerospace medicine and extreme medicine, facilitated by the use of the Aerospace and Extreme Environments Medical Systems Integration and Rapid Prototyping Laboratory and other UCF resources such as a newly established biobank for aerospace medicine and extreme environments.


  • Support the development and operation of undergraduate and graduate training programs in aerospace medicine and extreme environments.


  • Provide high-quality teaching in undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including course design, classroom instruction, and mentoring students in aerospace medicine topics.


  • Support the development of new commercial services for space biomedical research with government, industry, and academia.


  • Provide leadership and service to the Department, College and University (by such activities as committee participation and learner mentorship), as well as to the state of Florida and the broad academic community.


  • Promote a culture of innovation and excellence in the Department of Medicine's Aerospace Medicine Program.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • M.D., D.O., or Ph.D. degreefrom an accredited institution in a related discipline.


  • Five years of postgraduate relevant experience in aerospace medicine. Experience collaborating on interdisciplinary projects and fostering government, academic, and industry partnerships.


  • Consistent track record of research and peer-reviewed publications in aerospace and relevant extreme environments medicine.


  • Consistent track record of substantial funding from NASA, DoD or related sources.

The Opportunity

As a national and world leader in space, aerospace, and hypersonics, the University of Central Florida (UCF) has established a center of excellence on this topic and is working to strengthen its research and education mission in this area.

As a part of this broad, university-wide strategic plan, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applicants for multiple 9-month, full-time faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-earning), or associate professor (tenured). Candidates with a strong background in hypersonics and space systems are highly encouraged to apply. Technical fields of interest include, but are not limited to:

Central Florida has long been the center of space activities. With NASA Kennedy Space Center less than an hour from Orlando, several well-known companies such as Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power, and Lockheed Martin have their major headquarters in Orlando. Others such as Pratt & Whitney (Raytheon), Northrop Grumman, Blue Origin, and SpaceX have their headquarters within easily drivable distances. All these companies share the same talent pools available in this region. UCF's Orlando location also puts it at the center of the Florida High Tech Corridor. The corridor has an excellent industrial base that includes software, defense, space, simulation and training, and a world-renowned entertainment industry. Adjacent to UCF is a thriving research park that conducts over $2 billion in funded research, hosting more than 100 high-tech companies and UCF's School of Modeling, Simulation, and Training. In response to this unique locational opportunity, The Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER) was founded to focus on student training and research on turbomachinery and associated energy systems for application in power generation, aviation, and space propulsion. CATER has 9 core faculty members at present, with a staff of 5 research faculty, 15 postdoctoral researchers, and 97 doctoral students. It collectively secured $20.3M of new external funding in FY 24-25 and graduates 13 doctoral students per year on average.

The successful candidates would be part of the UCF HYPERSPACE Center ( ), a Center of Excellence (COE) for Hypersonics and Space Propulsion at the University of Central Florida. The motivation of the center is Speed and Space with the goal of achieving ultra-high-speed flight through our atmosphere, and efficient planetary entry and exit, making space exploration and intercontinental travel as routine as intercity travel is today. The center is a national and world leading center in hypersonic and space propulsion, modeling, aerodynamics, laser diagnostics/sensors, extreme environment materials, and additive/advanced manufacturing with Government and Industry funding. The center is a hub for world-class hypersonic wind tunnels and facilities, advanced hypersonic research, training and education, technology development and innovation.
