QA Manager

NeuBird is scaling rapidly and we need a hands-on QA leader who can build quality into everything we ship while still rolling up their sleeves to write tests and debug complex issues. You'll own quality across our AI-powered DevOps platform while building and mentoring a distributed QA team.

What You'll Do

Lead quality assurance for Hawkeye, our AI SRE agent that helps teams manage and troubleshoot their production environments. You'll design and implement comprehensive test strategies covering UI, integration, and AI-specific testing while building the automation frameworks that let us ship fast without breaking things.

You'll manage a distributed QA team across the US and India, balancing hands-on testing work with coaching and process improvement. This means writing critical test cases yourself, reviewing automation PRs, coordinating testing across time zones, and partnering with engineering to catch issues before they reach customers. You'll own test infrastructure, establish quality metrics that matter, and be the voice of the customer when making tradeoffs between speed and stability.

This role reports to the VP of Engineering and will be instrumental in maintaining our product quality as we scale to aggressive growth targets.

What You Bring

You have 5-7 years in QA with at least 2 years managing QA teams, ideally at a B2B SaaS company building infrastructure or observability tools. You're deeply experienced with UI testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright), integration testing in complex distributed systems, and modern automation frameworks (pytest, Jest, TestNG, or similar). You understand the unique challenges of testing observability tools—metrics pipelines, log aggregation, distributed tracing, and alert systems.

Experience testing AI/ML systems is a strong plus—whether that's model validation, testing non-deterministic outputs, or ensuring AI agent reliability. You've worked with distributed teams across multiple time zones and know how to build processes that work asynchronously. You're comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

More importantly, you're still technical. You can debug a failing test, write automation scripts, and jump into code reviews. You don't just manage—you lead by example. You understand that at a startup, sometimes the best leadership is writing the test that unblocks the team.

Job Responsibilities

As a Sr. Hardware Test Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a critical part of the Hardware Test team. This is a small team of broadly experienced engineers that strive to ensure that all hardware being produced meets the stringent requirements for aviation. You will be one of the essential interfaces between the design, production, and flight test teams and will be exposed to a wide variety of technical challenges.

You will be architecting automated test stands to replicate extreme flight conditions on our hardware and mechanisms that will serve as the backbone of our qualification testing. You will help to break our development hardware, help root-cause the failure modes, and provide critical input in redesigning it. You will be writing the software and building the hardware platforms for the command, control and data collection systems that will test our systems to rigorous aerospace standards. As a Senior Simulation Software Engineer, you will work to shape all aspects of our simulation software stack, including framework performance, flight dynamics modeling, hardware emulation, and simulation-based test infrastructure.

Responsibilities

In your role as Senior Simulation Software Engineer, you will lead projects to develop a robust, deterministic, and scalable software simulation framework to accelerate testing of safety-critical systems. You'll work closely with stakeholders, including flight software, guidance/navigation/control, and hardware test engineers to expand our simulation system. Your work will improve the simulation's core architecture, including performance, reproducibility, and flexibility. You'll evaluate and drive key project decisions while mentoring team members to improve their own skills.

Basic Success Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience

• 5+ years industry experience in simulation systems within aviation, automotive or comparable environments

• 7+ years professional experience in object oriented C++ and Python (or other scripting languages)

Preferred Criteria

• Experience modeling aircraft dynamics

• Experience developing simulations for safety-critical / DO-178 software and hardware systems

As a Senior Simulation Software Engineer, you will be part of the Simulation and Test Systems team. The Simulation and Test Systems team is responsible for building the infrastructure necessary to enable the development, test, and deployment of our autonomous aircraft software. You will work closely with the hardware-in-the-loop test environments, high-fidelity physics simulation stack, and cloud-based Monte-Carlo infrastructure to enable the millions of flight equivalent hours necessary to certify our aviation products. These systems provide fast and accurate feedback on the behavior of our system through a wide variety of flight plans, environmental conditions, and system faults.

As an Embedded Software Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the Embedded Systems team developing the low-level software and firmware at the heart of the Reliable Robotics autonomy stack. We provide dependable computing, networking, signal acquisition, and motor control solutions that bring our aircraft to life. Your contributions will directly enable key equipment and aircraft product demonstrations, unlock the development of higher-level capabilities, and set the stage for product certification & delivery to market.

Responsibilities

• Develop C/C++ flight software requirements, design, code, unit tests, and requirements-based test cases in accordance with DO-178C software development procedures

• Develop and maintain Continuous Integration infrastructure for automating software integration, build, testing, and deployment

• Develop Python-based software integration test cases

• Focus areas include bare-metal operating system and hardware initialization, networking, protocol drivers, and memory interfaces

Basic Success Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience

• 3+ years of professional experience developing C or C++

• Professional experience developing software for embedded, high-performance, or safety-critical applications
