The Quality Engineer II plays a key role in ensuring product and process quality throughout the product lifecycle. This position involves applying quality engineering principles to prevent defects, improve manufacturing processes, and maintain compliance with established standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and procedures for new and existing products.
- Conduct root cause analysis for product non-conformances and process deviations, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform statistical analysis of quality data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and risks.
- Participate in design reviews, process validations, and manufacturing readiness reviews to ensure quality requirements are met.

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 depending on industry).
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (MSA), and other quality tools.
- Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Manages through subordinates, the development and maintenance of quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products for a business unit or corporate. Manages the audits of quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred in Engineering or Technology disciplines.

Ideally Seven (7) years of experience in high technology manufacturing including 3 plus years in compute and network server/rack industry.
Must have a proven track record of driving improvements ideally in compute and network server/rack products.
Experience in defining and changing quality culture in production environment.

Part-Time Opportunities

Serving part-time as a Navy Reserve Sailor, your duties will be carried out during your scheduled drilling and training periods. During monthly drilling, Information Professional Officers in the Navy Reserve typically work at a location close to their homes.
For annual training, Information Professional Officers may serve anywhere in the world, whether on a ship at sea or at bases and installations on shore.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary:
Securian Financial is seeking a motivated Financial Systems Engineer to join our Financial Product Ecosystem (FPE) team, where you'll help shape the future of the enterprise-wide SAP financial system. In this hybrid role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, enhance systems, and drive innovation in an agile environment. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Product & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Product Owners, System Architects, and business stakeholders to define user stories and deliver effective solutions in an agile environment.
- Own and manage incoming projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
System Enhancement & Support
- Lead enhancements and troubleshoot issues across the SAP ecosystem.
- Support batch process resolution, including job setup, updates, and root cause analysis. This includes participation in an overnight on-call rotation quarterly for a total of approximately 2-3 weeks a quarter, supported by a collaborative team structure.
Quality & Documentation
- Ensure deliverables are testable, well-documented, and meet the needs of both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Assist with audit and security activities to maintain data integrity and compliance.
Technology Leadership & Learning
- Serve as a technical thought leader for current and future solutions, driving adoption and innovation as well as bridging the gap between technical work and business functional knowledge.
- Build expertise in SAP technologies including:
- Core SAP Tools: ABAP and FPSL (Financial Product Sub-Ledger)
- Programming & Integration: Java, Python, REST, SOAP, ABAP, HANA SDI
- Scheduling & Reporting: Control-M, SAP Fiori Tiles
Continuous Improvement
- Stay ahead of evolving technologies and proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance and user experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with financial systems such as SAP.
- Hands-on software development experience, including configuring and debugging enterprise applications using technologies such as Java, Python, REST, and SOAP.
- Familiarity with platforms such as AWS, ABAP, and HANA SDI, with a demonstrated ability to quickly ramp up in new tools.
- Strategic and analytical thinker with strong creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experienced in agile methodologies with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Advanced communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders and lead discussions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of experience as an engineering or product analyst, with a proven track record of delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Hands-on experience with SAP modules such as ABAP and FPSL.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Proficient in Control-M for batch scheduling and SAP Fiori Tiles for operational reporting.

The Digital Standards Guide (DSG) team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and evolution of Securian's enterprise design system - delivering reusable, accessible, and brandaligned UI components used across digital experiences. Our work enables consistency, efficiency, and highquality user experiences by partnering closely with UX, design, accessibility, and product teams. We support the full lifecycle of components, from discovery and design through development, testing, accessibility validation, and documentation.
We are seeking a FrontEnd Development Engineer who is passionate about building accessible, scalable, and usercentered interfaces. In this role, you will develop and support DSG components and patterns that empower product teams across the organization. You will work closely with design, accessibility consultants, and product partners to ensure solutions meet brand standards, usability best practices, and technical excellence.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Develop, test, review, and maintain frontend components and patterns using HTML, CSS/Sass, JavaScript, and ARIA to meet accessibility standards.
Build reusable, flexible, and scalable UI components and patterns aligned to DSG guidelines and Securian's brand.
Support the component lifecycle, including intake, development, QA, accessibility audit, iteration, and release.
Collaboration & Partnership
Work closely with UX designers, accessibility specialists, analytics partners, and product teams to build solutions that meet user needs.
Participate in design reviews, provide engineering perspective, and advise teams adopting DSG components.
Partner with product teams to identify improvements and ensure successful implementation across applications.
Documentation & Guidance
Contribute to technical documentation, usage guidance, best practices, and migration/support materials for developers and designers.

Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with frontend development using HTML, CSS/Sass, and JavaScript.
Strong understanding of semantic markup, accessibility fundamentals, and ARIA.
Experience building reusable, maintainable frontend components or UI patterns.
Proficiency with version control systems (preferably Git, GitHub).
Ability to selfmanage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

How will you make an impact?
We are seeking a highly skilled, technically proficient and detail-oriented Principal Mechanical Engineer with expertise in metal structures, frame design, pipes and fabrication to support the development of power and cooling infrastructure for data centers. This role is critical in designing robust mechanical systems that house and support electrical and thermal management equipment, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
What will you do?
* Experience designing and integrating hydronic systems including pumps, piping networks, valves, and heat exchangers for data center cooling applications.
* Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing for chilled water and glycol-based systems.
* Understanding of installation constraints, maintenance access, and serviceability in large-scale mechanical infrastructure.
* Design and develop mechanical frames, enclosures, and support structures for data center power and cooling products (UPS systems, battery racks, CRAC units, containment systems, LVS, MVS).
* Perform advanced structural analysis using FEA tools to validate mechanical integrity under static, dynamic, seismic, and thermal loads.
* Analyze load paths, stress concentrations, and fatigue life of structural components to ensure long-term reliability.
* Design metal enclosures with considerations for airflow, thermal containment, EMI shielding, and environmental protection.
* Evaluate and implement new materials, coatings, and fabrication technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
* Participate in customer engagements and site visits to understand deployment constraints and gather feedback for design improvements.
* Create detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings, including weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts
* Select appropriate materials and fabrication methods to optimize cost, performance, and reliability
* Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and systems engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with functional components.
* Lead mechanical design reviews and contribute to cross-functional design validation efforts.
* Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
* Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, and performance optimization.
* Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve fabrication issues and ensure quality standards are met.
* Support lifecycle management of mechanical components, including obsolescence planning and alternate sourcing.
* Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures or field issues.
* Ensure mechanical designs support airflow management, thermal containment, and integration with cooling systems (in-row cooling, rear door heat exchangers).
* Collaborate with compliance and certification teams to ensure mechanical designs meet global regulatory requirements (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH)

Education :
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Experience :
* 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and fabrication, preferably in data center, industrial, or power systems environment.
* Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor) and FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus).
* Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes including welding, sheet metal forming, and machining is a must
* Experience with structural design for heavy equipment or large assemblies, and familiarity with thermal and airflow considerations in enclosure design is required
