Essential Duties
- Possesses the ability to perform geometrical and mathematical calculations. In depth knowledge of advanced survey equipment; responsible for the selection, care and maintenance of all survey equipment.
- Provide and maintain horizontal and vertical survey control, including all calculations, and maintain organized documentation of survey notes. Provides document control for all work.
- Demonstrates ability to perform layout and surveying, while providing leadership to direct Field Engineers as an instrument man or rodman. Ability to train and mentor Field Engineers and other members on calculations and documentation.

McLean is looking for a Dredge Project Manager to join our growing Dredge Division team in Chesapeake, VA.
Dredge Project Managers have profit/loss and overall responsibility for each project they are assigned to, and work in tandem with Project Superintendents, Engineers and the Construction/Operations/Division Manager(s) to ensure projects are successfully completed safely, on time and on budget. They collaborate with field supervisors on a daily basis and act as the Company's primary point of contact when communicating, negotiating or trouble-shooting contractual, commercial or technical issues with the Owner. DPMs also work closely with the Construction/Operations/Division Manager(s) to coordinate and develop the careers of field supervisors on their projects, as well as write and approve purchase orders and subcontracts, develop the budget, and regularly update cost and revenue projections for their projects. DPMs actively participate in means and methods, safety planning, project scheduling, and budgeting in the construction and pre-construction phases.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Understands the importance of maintaining horizontal and vertical control of underwater grades (dredge templates), pay verses non-pay quantities, the use of hydrographic surveys to monitor job progress and billings, and has the ability to read & review these surveys and bucket files to ensure efficiency of dredge operations.
Actively manages project personnel and the layout, function, and appearance of the project sites.
When not based in a field office, regularly visits jobsites of assigned projects to coordinate with field supervisors to optimize project operations and ensure projects are completed in conformance with contract requirements.
Possesses capability to read, review, and interpret procedures, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
Performs and is proficient in geometrical and mathematical calculations.
Displays high proficiency in basic computer systems and software including dredging software and hydrographic surveys.
Writes, reviews, and negotiates contracts for material purchases and subcontracting services with pricing and terms favorable to McLean.
Holds responsibility for project administration, cost and revenue forecasting, cost estimating, construction planning, means and methods evaluations, project scheduling, material procurement, subcontracting, change orders, quality control, and job site safety.
Interfaces bid cost data from estimating software into accounting/project management software to set up project budget prior to project work and ensures that project costs are properly accounted for during work.
Develops CPM project schedules with input from Estimators and the Project Superintendent.
Coordinates with minority and small businesses to ensure compliance with contract requirements concerning their participation in the project.
Identifies extra work situations, provides timely notice to the owner and seeks recovery of costs.
Identifies potential delays and implements strategies to mitigate them.
Provides document control for correspondence, submittals, RFI's, etc.
Coordinates with site supervision to ensure proper management of subcontractors and vendor material deliveries.
Provides oversight for progress entry, schedule updates, subcontractor payments, and owner invoices initiated by site supervision.
Assists in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts.
Possesses knowledge of relevant dredge equipment, materials, and means and methods.
Monitors safety, schedule and cost and makes necessary adjustments to operations in support of established goals, budgets, and contract requirements.
Education and/or Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology and 5 years of related experience. A combination of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience in dredging, heavy civil and marine construction, and cost estimating is highly valued.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work and able to pass a physical. Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

In this capacity Manager assists with development and planning, as well as executes the functional level activities of the Client Technology Division: Operating Systems and Productivity Application Lifecycle Management, Client Technology Hardware Lifecycle Management, Line-of-Business Application Support, Cloud Services Administration, Identity Management, IT Security, Telecommunications, Mobile Device Management, and Helpdesk.
Additionally, leads the Client Technology aspects of the broader Technology Projects; performs coordination of activities with other managers in the department; assures the consistency of policy execution, compliance with technical and administrative procedures as well as management direction; performs staff supervision and performance evaluation; all well as performs other related work as assigned.
Essential Job Functions: (Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned) Leads all phases of the client technology systems lifecycle management including requirements gathering, equipment selection, software selection, hardware and software deployment and configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, cutover, documentation, and ongoing operation support.
In coordination with Cyber Security and Technology Infrastructure leads establishment and maintenance of cyber security posture for entrusted client technology assets and systems through application of sound cyber security engineering principles and best practices implementation.
Leads helpdesk monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution efforts.
Acts as a final tier of Helpdesk and Client technology issues escalation, performs solution research, testing and implementation.
Takes part in the Incident Response activities as per established guidelines.
Leads Client Technology Asset Lifecycle Management, including: Maintenance of hardware and software inventory records.
Development and execution of the hardware and software Preventative Maintenance Plans.
Assessment of assets utilization, age, cyber security posture, and a recommendation if a corrective actions.
Supports Change Management, Configuration Management, Cyber Security Baseline management.
Leads Client Technology Team members help desk work order prioritization and execution verification.
Follows standard practices for systems documentation.
Coordinates with Sr.
Director of Technology Services in developing technical solutions and approaches; co-develops policies, tailored procedural documents, and work instructions.
Plans and manages the day-to-day activities of assigned sections, activities, and priorities.
Assures the most effective use of equipment and software consistent with the Agency’s needs.
Leads interviewing, selecting, training, and evaluating staff.
Leads cost analysis and cost forecasting in support of reporting requirements.
Leads bi-annual Client Technology aspects of the “Board Pick” activities as per established schedule.
Manage records created and received in compliance with the Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications Training and/or Education: BS in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or Related Field.
Extensive relevant work experience in leu of formation education is acceptable.
Required Experience: The equivalent of a ten years of recent full-time, progressively growing professional experience in network infrastructure, data center operations, and client infrastructure support, including at least five years of increasingly responsible technical lead experience with at least three years as a senior support engineer or administrator of a large enterprise Information Technology environment with some personnel leadership responsibilities.
Licenses or Certificates: Possess a valid Driver's License.
Acquire a Virginia Driver's License within 60 days after the date of hire (in instances when an out of state license is not the applicant's current state of residence).
Microsoft Network and Security Certifications preferred.
