Chassis Design/Development Contingent Engineer:

Responsibilities include: simulate, design, and validate chassis components using various simulations tools (dynamometers, rigs and track tests); provide feedback and produce technical reports.

Design Contingent Engineer:

Responsibilities include engine design concept preparation, component and assembly modeling, design evaluation and analysis, drawing preparation and release, part manufacturing coordination and other related administrative duties.

 Electrical Contingent Engineer:

Responsibilities include supporting electronic control systems on the race car; validate the control system design and application; optimization of the calibration for the system algorithms and functions utilizing real time software. Will also be responsible for engine-related electronic control unit, ignition, switches, wiring harness systems, wiring looms and connectors.

Development Contingent Engineer:

Responsible for creating development plans for concepts and component development. Looking at the full product life cycle from concept to production. In addition to executing the test and validations required to achieve project goals.

Test Contingent Engineer:

Responsibilities include engine development and durability testing on the test cell while ensuring that the test cell is ready and capable of  meeting the requested testing goals and deadlines. Will be programming and operating the test cell/plans, develop engine  and instrumentation calibration setting and cell maintenance.  Review testing methods to determine areas for improvement in accuracy, consistency and processing results.

Vehicle Dynamics Contingent Engineer:

Responsibilities include populating and calibrating vehicle model parameters, performing correlation studies: comparing vehicle model behaviors with real-world test data and modelling and characterization of all vehicle systems: e.g. aerodynamics, brakes, multi-body suspensions, tires, powertrains.

Job Purpose

A Contingent position that will work with Designers, Vehicle Performance, and Electronics Specialists to test, modify, and evolve hardware systems on race cars and track-focused road cars. Work to prove-out durability and performance to technical targets. Report and communicate on lessons-learned during the development process. Devise innovative tools and methods to test cars, subsystems, and parts. Document problem reports for failures in the field. Analyze data logged on cars, to trace down root causes. Track and manage resolution of vehicle hardware issues. Devise countermeasures. Work with designers and manage 3rd parties to implement design changes. Manage and execute testing of countermeasure parts. Manage and execute test and development of new vehicles, and vehicle hardware updates. Regularly liaise with 3rd party vendors, race teams, and test facilities. Specify instrumentation, perform data analysis, and write reports on the outcomes of development initiatives. Devise new and improved ways to test parts and systems, either in track driving tests, or in workshop rig tests. Work with designers, electronics groups, and suppliers to implement new testing equipment and methods.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience with 3-dimension CAD software modelling of race car components. At least 5 years of professional experience.  Strong analytical skills are required. Knowledge and hands-on experience with racing cars and related electronics and mechanical systems. Previous experience evaluating and implementing design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Previous experience coordinating activities related to project  development, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design and test issues. Extensive knowledge of racing car mechanical systems and structural elements Strong knowledge of engineering principles and theories. Knowledge of raw material specifications and codes. Strong Project Management skills.  Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment. Ability to accurately apply engineering theories to analysis of real-world data. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs of vehicle components

Job Purpose

The Electrical Design Contingent Engineer will support company projects by performing electrical design activities, collaborating cross‑functionally, and ensuring all design solutions meet performance, cost, manufacturing, and timeline targets. Key Accountabilities

Conduct electrical design activities in support of company project requirements. Develop new or improved designs, including 3D modeling and 2D drawings, incorporating modern technologies, industry trends, manufacturability, environmental considerations, cost, and ease of assembly. Recommend optimized design solutions to solve problems or reduce cost while meeting performance and project targets. Perform engineering hand calculations where needed (e.g., beam bending, pressure drop). Understand and apply creepage and clearance methodologies for high‑voltage components. Design wire harnesses; experience with harness layout in assembly design is a plus. Perform tolerance stack‑up calculations to ensure proper assembly under all part variances. Collaborate with other departments to ensure on‑time delivery of practical and optimized electrical design solutions. Participate in assembly trials, manufacturing trials, and vendor visits as needed, including business travel to track/HRC or other locations. Act as a liaison between Project Management and the Design Group Lead, ensuring clear communication of project history, issues, priorities, and targets. Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA V5/V6 or 3D Experience preferred). Strong understanding of high‑voltage electrical systems, including creepage and clearance requirements.
