About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Manager of Facility & Engineering Services to lead facilities operations in a large, complex environment supporting critical infrastructure.

This is not a property management role—it’s a high-impact leadership position responsible for systems, people, and projects, ensuring operational reliability, safety, and compliance.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, capable of leading teams while actively supporting facility systems and troubleshooting when needed.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and supervise facilities and maintenance teams across multiple trades
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce productivity
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Drive accountability for performance, safety, and operational standards

Facilities Operations (Hands-On)

  • Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical
  • Ensure uptime and reliability of critical infrastructure
  • Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex facility issues

Project Management

  • Lead capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and vendors
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and project execution
  • Ensure safe and efficient project delivery

Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and facility regulations
  • Support inspections, audits, and documentation
  • Participate in safety initiatives and emergency preparedness

Process & Systems Improvement

  • Improve maintenance programs and operational workflows
  • Implement or optimize CMMS systems
  • Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
  • Standardize processes to enhance productivity and accountability


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Facilities Management leadership
  • Strong team management and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects or renovations
  • Ability to clearly communicate project scope, execution, and outcomes
  • Willingness to be hands-on with facility systems and operations


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or hospital facilities
  • Central plant or powerhouse experience
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • Experience working with union teams
  • CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager) certification is a plus
