Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer designs, evaluates, and maintains mechanical and electromechanical automation products and systems. This role leads engineering projects of moderate scope, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams while exercising independent judgment on technical tasks and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering projects and coordinate tasks with cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers on product design and development best practices.
  • Design parts and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Create and release assembly and sub-assembly drawings for production.
  • Manage product designs from concept through implementation.
  • Develop and execute test plans and conduct lab testing.
  • Support multiple concurrent engineering projects.
  • Participate in product brainstorming and innovation initiatives.
  • Maintain change management through Engineering Change Requests/Notices (ECR/ECN).
  • Create and update Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Build and test engineering prototypes.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation and presentations.
  • Develop part specifications and collaborate with vendors and supply chain for sourcing.
  • Coordinate work with contractors, interns, and other project resources.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design or performance issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software (SolidWorks required; PDM experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis tools such as CFD or FEA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations related to loads, strength, and system performance.
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
