Engineering Operations Manager – Electrical / Switchgear Design
Palmetto, FL (Onsite)
A growing engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking an Engineering Operations Manager to lead a team responsible for the design and development of low-voltage switchboards and electrical distribution equipment.
This role will oversee switchboard design operations, guide a team of engineers and designers, and drive improvements in product quality, reliability, and manufacturability while partnering closely with manufacturing and product teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of switchboard designers and engineers
- Oversee engineering design activities for low-voltage switchboards, junction boxes, busways, and related electrical assemblies
- Drive continuous improvement in product design, quality, reliability, and manufacturability
- Review and approve design packages, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Establish and maintain engineering standards aligned with UL, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and IEEE codes
- Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and product support teams to support project execution
- Support new product development initiatives and emerging technologies
- Partner with leadership to plan engineering capacity and prioritize projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in switchgear or switchboard design
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and switchgear components
- Understanding of industry standards including UL, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and IEEE
- Ability to lead engineering teams and manage multiple priorities
