Education & Experience

• Core Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in laboratory environments or field applications focused on cement, concrete, paints, coatings, or other construction materials.

Job Description: In this position, the candidate must have robot experience and a basic understanding of PLCs and how they operate. The AE will be the main contact for project development and execution, in addition to being able to demonstrate a high level of multi-tasking, at times. Robot system integration and remote plant support will be two key responsibilities of the Automation Engineer in this fast-paced opportunity.  This job is located at the Quikrete Corporate Engineering office (Johns Creek, GA) and will require travel to company plant sites (30-40%)

Prerequisites:

-         Education: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree

-         3+ years of experience with Robotics (Fanuc is a plus).

-         Travel: 30-40% and MUST be willing to travel on short notice.

-         Clean background check/drug test required.

-         Allen Bradley PLC/HMI experience is a plus.

ENGINEERING:

ASSEMBLY:

-         The AE should be able to create, read, modify, and follow electrical and mechanical prints.

CHECKOUT/PRE-SHIP:

-         System testing, debugging and optimization to ensure company standards and productivity goals are achieved.

-         Plant acceptance testing with plant personnel and upper management at Corporate ENG.

-         Machine teardown and shipment preparation.

-         Operators’ manual creation for plant use.

AUTOMATION SYSTEM COMMISSIONING:

-         System debug and start up.

-         Operator training on safety, operation, and troubleshooting.

-         Ensure system is operating per the Plant acceptance testing.

-         Provide daily commissioning updates.

-         Coordinating with the Regional Engineer and Automation Technicians to get robot systems installed, debugged, and commissioned based on corporate specifications and standards.

LONG TERM SUPPORT:

-         Providing remote support to plants from the Johns Creek office via company network.

The Senior, Security Engineer reviews, develops, and manages security solutions to reduce risk for Macy’s, Inc. This role actively engages with management to provide timely updates and clear status, enabling informed decisions related to security risk exposure and operational stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Own enterprise Akamai Edge Security operations for ecommerce / digital platforms
• Design, deploy, and tune:
• Akamai WAF (Kona / App & API Protector)
• Bot Manager (scraping, credential stuffing, inventory abuse protection)
• DDoS mitigation and rate control
• API Security protections
• Protect against OWASP Top 10 threats, credential stuffing, carding attacks, scraping, and checkout abuse
• Optimize CDN configurations for performance, scalability, and customer experience
• Analyze traffic patterns and security logs to reduce false positives and protect revenue
• Support peak retail events (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, seasonal launches)
• Automate configuration management using Terraform, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
• Develop monitoring dashboards and security metrics (block rate, false positives, bot ratios, attack trends)
• Partner with:
• Application Security
• Cloud Engineering
• DevOps
• Fraud & Risk teams
• Support production change management and incident response for edge-related threats
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS and internal security governance standards

Required Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of hands-on experience managing Akamai CDN and security platforms in production
• Strong experience with:
• Akamai WAF policy tuning
• Bot mitigation strategies
• DDoS protections (application & volumetric)
• Deep understanding of:
• HTTP/S, TLS, DNS, CDN architectures
• OWASP Top 10
• API security best practices
• Experience in high-traffic ecommerce or retail environments

Job Overview

The Director, Software Engineering reports to the Senior Director, Engineering and partners with them to establish and drive the technology solutions strategy and implementation to meet Macy’s business needs. The Director collaborates with technical and business functions across the enterprise, contributing to strategy and governance while making balanced technical decisions that consider code quality, delivery predictability, and, above all, business value.

The Director, Software Engineering maintains a strong engineering foundation with expertise in modern technology stacks and experience implementing contemporary technologies. This leader leverages managerial experience to guide and develop the existing engineering team, attract and recruit top engineering talent, and successfully lead large-scale technology implementations in retail or related industries.

• Evaluate and anticipate Macy’s future technology needs by balancing innovation, industry trends, and customer- and associate-facing solution requirements.
• Lead the design, delivery, and operations of technology solutions that modernize Macy’s capabilities, providing strategic guidance to senior technology leadership on systems, processes, and improvements to support the business vision and strategic plan.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive platform modernization and enterprise-wide technology initiatives.

Skills You Will Need

• Software Engineering Expertise: Strong foundation in modern technology stacks, open-source technologies, and cloud-native applications across private and public cloud platforms (GCP, Azure).
• Large-Scale Technology Implementation: Experience successfully leading Loyalty and MarTech technology initiatives, particularly in retail or highly matrixed organizations.

Who You Are

• Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
• 15 plus years of experience in software engineering and high-volume enterprise systems. 10 plus years of experience in engineering management and delivering large-scale transformation initiatives in retail required.
• Extensive experience leading the design and implementation of enterprise-scale loyalty platforms, including both custom-built solutions and leading vendors such as EagleEye, Salesforce, Kobie, and Talon.One.
• Strong command of Marketing Technology operations, with hands-on experience driving platform architecture, integrations, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence across complex MarTech ecosystems.
• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
