Position: Project Engineer – CAPEX (Manufacturing)

Location: Bartlett, IL onsite

I am looking for a Project Engineer to support capital projects including new production lines, equipment installs, and facility upgrades. In this role you will own CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning and works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor production processes and reliability data to identify and resolve quality issues
• Develop and maintain incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality inspection procedures
• Perform root cause investigations related to product defects, field complaints, and nonconforming materials
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing quality and product performance
• Lead quality documentation efforts including IQA, FAI, DFMEA, and PFMEA processes
• Conduct finished goods testing and process audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Maintain and manage internal Quality Management System (QMS) records and tracking systems
• Track and report quality metrics, production KPIs, and corrective actions
• Work with procurement and suppliers to resolve vendor quality issues and perform supplier quality evaluations
• Support regulatory compliance, factory audits, and product agency documentation
• Create and manage quality-related documentation including alerts, calibration records, and reports

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control within a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred
• Experience performing root cause analysis and corrective action processes
• Familiarity with quality management systems and quality documentation processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with sheet metal components or fabrication processes
• Ability to read technical drawings and manufacturing part prints
• Exposure to manufacturing equipment and fabrication capabilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for a variety of products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process improvement in a production environment.
• Experience with process design, workflow optimization, and troubleshooting production issues.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Own and maintain ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System

• Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed systems expertise.
• Hands-on programming skills in Python, Go, or Node.js with CI/CD and observability experience.
• Leadership and project management abilities, including stakeholder management and cross-functional project delivery.
