• Lead and continuously improve our AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality Management System

• Direct all inspection activities (In-Process, Pre-Mold, Final) including AS9102 First Article Inspections
• Ensure cable and harness assemblies meet IPC-620, J-STD-001, AS9102, and customer requirements

• Monitor quality metrics, defect trends, and drive Zero Defect initiatives
• Lead internal audits and support customer and certification audits
• Partner cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Planning, Procurement, and Corporate Quality
• Develop and mentor the Quality team, building capability and accountability at every level
• Serve as the primary customer liaison for quality-related matters

Technical Expertise:

• Strong working knowledge of AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection
• Familiarity with IPC-620 and J-STD-001 (Space Addendum a plus)
• Deep experience with NCMR, MRB, CAPA/RCCA, and root cause analysis
• Aerospace or military manufacturing background preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wire lists, and MIL specs
• Experience in build-to-print cable/harness manufacturing is a plus

Leadership & Impact:

• 5+ years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within manufacturing

Role Overview

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing and expanding Pion’s most

strategic customer relationships within the Boston market. This role is central to the

Qualifications & Experience

Required

Contract-To-Hire (6-Months)

Provide engineering and project management skills in support of the design and development of new processes/equipment, the scale-up and commercialization of new products, the continual improvement of existing technologies, and the optimal performance and troubleshooting of existing operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong engineering skills in support of the scale-up and development of new products and processes. This includes methods, procedures and specifications to ensure a timely transfer to Manufacturing.

We enable internal teams to securely build, deploy, and scale AI capabilities across the company—driving innovation, productivity, and customer impact. What you'll get to do...

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team delivering critical AI platform capabilities while mentoring engineers to deliver quality software efficiently.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (product, design, and engineering leaders) to define and execute the GoCaaS roadmap and strategic initiatives.
• Drive platform excellence by ensuring reliability, scalability, and optimal developer experience for internal AI consumers.
• Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, observability, and secure software development across the organization.
• Collaborate with enterprise teams (security, data, infrastructure) to deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions while fostering a culture of experimentation and technical excellence.

Your experience should include...

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in engineering management or tech lead roles.
• Proven leadership of backend/platform teams delivering production-scale services.
• Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed systems expertise.
• Hands-on programming skills in Python, Go, or Node.js with CI/CD and observability experience.
• Leadership and project management abilities, including stakeholder management and cross-functional project delivery.

You might also have...

• AI/ML Infrastructure Experience - Working with LLMs, RAG systems, or broader AI/ML infrastructure.
• Container Orchestration - Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Security & Privacy - Experience with secure data handling and privacy frameworks.
• Developer Platform Background - Experience building internal tooling or developer platforms.
• Leadership & Community Engagement - Passion for team building, mentoring engineers, and contributing to open-source initiatives.
