o Develop, implement, and maintain EHS management systems in alignment with Raytheon EHS Management Systems Policies and Procedures

What You Will Do

• Sets up and operates conventional and CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines on proved-in complex precision production parts that are produced from materials varying from standard to exotic.
• Must maintain quality of set ups using skills that require a comprehensive knowledge of tools, tool geometry, feeds, speeds, and blueprint/ planning.
• Utilizing project and SIE (Standard Inspection Equipment) to ensure quality assurance while performing machining operations.

• Unit requires working with and using any available magnification or visual enhancement equipment (i.e. Standard microscopes, eye loops, optic visors) on a variety of small parts.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
• Two years recent experience within the last 4 years operating CNC and conventional machines.
• Works from verbal and written operation instructions such as, work orders, CNC data sheets, and blueprints.
• Ability to use inspection equipment, such as micrometers, dial calipers, thread gauges, plug gauges, and air gauges.
• Performs necessary machine and tooling offset changes to maintain setup.
• Evaluates tool wear and changes tools such as mills, inserts, drills, and reamers.
• Must be able to make minor edits to the CNC program such as tool stations and spindle direction.
• Must be able to work any designated shift to include overnight.
• Must pass practical test within 90 days of hiring into this position.
• The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) organization includes all of the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test of all Raytheon products. You must demonstrate applied experience and working knowledge of developmental test process, test set-ups and integration, test equipment design with transition to the factory, and verification / validation of product hardware using proven test systems, methodologies, and techniques. The Mechanical Engineering group in the Shipboard Effectors Department seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer REA (Responsible Engineering Authority) to contribute to the mechanical technical team for a common Guidance Unit (Stack). This role is primarily responsible for maintaining mechanical Technical Data Package (TDP) configuration changes, driving producibility updates, supporting failure investigations, supporting alternate component and material evaluations and testing, providing support across the full spectrum of mechanical, environmental, structural, and thermal engineering disciplines. Additionally, the mechanical engineer will be part of a small team of mechanical engineers, ensuring successful support of both production and development efforts.

This is an onsite role and located in Tucson, Az.

What You Will Do

• Serve as the mechanical engineer to support documentation, mechanical, environmental, structural, and thermal aspects of different stack configurations. 

• Contribute to a small team of mechanical production REAs supporting mechanical production and development efforts, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with program objectives. 

• Oversee and manage all mechanical, slice and stack TDP configuration changes, ensuring updates address producibility improvements, yield optimization, and design enhancements. 

• Lead efforts to analyze and incorporate producibility updates into designs to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce production defects. 

• Support failure investigations, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to resolve systemic mechanical issues. 

• Provide technical guidance on mechanical design, analysis, and integration challenges, ensuring compliance with program requirements and performance specifications. 

• Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) practices and lead efforts to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in mechanical assemblies. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, quality, and supply chain, to resolve mechanical engineering challenges and ensure seamless integration of stack configurations. 

• Provide oversight and review of hardware performance during environmental testing, including structural and thermal analysis, to ensure compliance with design requirements. 

• Maintain and update mechanical TDPs, processing engineering change requests such as IRs, CNs, SRs, and variances to ensure accurate and current documentation.

The Test Equipment Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products.
