Assesses, manages and educates patient and families on new ostomies. . Works collaboratively with the general surgical residency and OMFS residency services.

Position Highlights: CT7B Advanced Care
- Number of beds on unit: 24
- Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): The Advanced Care Unit is a 24-bed unit specializing in the care of acutely unstable patients that do not meet criteria for Intensive Care status but still require frequent, advanced assessments and interventions. Specific patient populations or conditions that require Advanced Care status include complex multi-trauma, uncompensated sepsis, continuous non-invasive ventilation, stroke, complicated withdrawal from alcohol or other recreational drugs, and DKA. The unit also includes an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) where patients with seizure-like events can be safely taken off medication to purposefully induce seizure-like events and provide vital information to the Epilepsy Team about how to treat them.
- Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:3
- Department culture and resources: The Advanced Care Unit is a fast-pace, team-oriented unit. We work closely with our physician partners and ancillary team members to achieve the best outcomes for our patients. We have a robust Partnership Committee that meets monthly. We have a unit-based educator, a quality outcomes coordinator, 2 nurse supervisors and charge nurses.
- Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Minimum Q4 hour full RN assessments. Minimum Q2 hour vital signs. Continuous cardiac monitoring by primary RN, Foley/IV/NG insertions, arterial line/central line/chest tube monitoring and care, IV pumps, feeding pumps, lift equipment. Commonly used IV drips: amiodarone, diltiazem, insulin for DKA, dobutamine, heparin, octreotide.

Physicist - Radiation Oncology

Overview
Comprehensive Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Hospital Radiation Safety is responsible for performing all medical physics tasks necessary for the safe and accurate delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation in collaboration with the radiation oncologists, interventional radiology, and staff of Carle Foundation Hospital. Comprehensive Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Hospital Radiation Safety will be responsible for maintaining State and Federal regulatory requirements specific to the practice of radiation therapy and radiation safety at Carle Foundation Hospital. Comprehensive Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Hospital Radiation Safety provides physics support for the following four (4) hospital units at Carle Health in Urbana: (1) Carle Cancer Institute and is responsible for quality control of all three linear accelerators in the radiation oncology department; (2) Interventional Radiology for intravascular administration of Y-90 radioactive therapy for patients with liver metastases; (3) Hospital Safety Department working with radiation safety officer on implementing all radiation safety measure for the entire hospital. Those measures are appropriate utilization of radiation safety precautions by hospital staff, proper dose monitoring in radiation exposure areas of the hospital, and proper licensing of all providers who are authorized users (AU) of radiation sources in the State of Illinois. (4) Comprehensive Medical Physicist will also provide radiation safety service for proper therapy of patients with brain tumors with radioactive seeds (Gamma Tile Cs-131) treated in Neurosurgery Department at Carle. He/she will create and monitor clinical quality indicators and collaborates with physicians to ensure appropriate treatment guidelines are utilized and monitored.

The compensation range for this position is $89.05per hour - $153.11per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. Comprehensive Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Hospital Radiation Safety is responsible for performing all medical physics tasks necessary for the safe and accurate delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation in collaboration with the radiation oncologists, interventional radiology, and staff of Carle Foundation Hospital. Comprehensive Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Hospital Radiation Safety will be responsible for maintaining State and Federal regulatory requirements specific to the practice of radiation therapy and radiation safety at Carle Foundation Hospital. Comprehensive Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Hospital Radiation Safety provides physics support for the following four (4) hospital units at Carle Health in Urbana: (1) Carle Cancer Institute and is responsible for quality control of all three linear accelerators in the radiation oncology department; (2) Interventional Radiology for intravascular administration of Y-90 radioactive therapy for patients with liver metastases; (3) Hospital Safety Department working with radiation safety officer on implementing all radiation safety measure for the entire hospital. Those measures are appropriate utilization of radiation safety precautions by hospital staff, proper dose monitoring in radiation exposure areas of the hospital, and proper licensing of all providers who are authorized users (AU) of radiation sources in the State of Illinois. (4) Comprehensive Medical Physicist will also provide radiation safety service for proper therapy of patients with brain tumors with radioactive seeds (Gamma Tile Cs-131) treated in Neurosurgery Department at Carle. He/she will create and monitor clinical quality indicators and collaborates with physicians to ensure appropriate treatment guidelines are utilized and monitored.

- Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): The Oncology Unit is a 16-bed unit specializing in the care of acutely ill Oncology/Hematology patients, with diagnosis-related to acute and/or chronic illnesses, including but not limited to Oncology/hematology diseases. Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $18.89per hour - $30.6per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model. The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patients of Carle Foundation Hospital, Kirby and Hoopeston Hospitals, and all Carle Enterprise locations that might use medications. Perform technical tasks such as filing, compounding, reconstitution, labeling, and delivery.

Responsibilities
Accurately and safely prepare and label chemotherapy drugs for administration. PRN Technicians are not required to complete this task Accurately fill and deliver Omnicell restock lists. Assist in developing and maintaining training materials as needed. Assist in special projects not requiring clinical decision-making capacity as assigned by the Director. Enter and process new prescriptions and refills. Fill medication orders in an accurate and timely manner, including new or lost doses, floor stock replacement items, unit dose cart, outpatient and take-home prescriptions. Perform miscellaneous billing functions, including patient charging and crediting, nursing unit charges, and controlled substance charging through manual entry into the computer, or with bar code reader. Perform miscellaneous non-sterile compounding. Perform monthly inspection of assigned nursing units and pharmacy area for expired or otherwise unusable drugs, and provide proper storage and accurate inventory. Prepare IV products using aseptic technique and applying proper labeling. PRN Technician's are not required to complete this task Prepare parenteral nutrition solutions, provide pertinent laboratory information to the pharmacist when assigned. PRN Technicians are not required to complete this task Prepare various batch IV products to support patient care needs utilizing the batch compounder as appropriate. PRN Technicians are not required to complete this task Prepares and delivers enteral nutritional supplements to patient care areas. Maintains enteral records and billing functions. Provide services to the Operating Room staff from the OR medication room. Refers customers and calls to a pharmacist when appropriate. Restock and replace various trays and kits used throughout the facility.
