HIMARS Specialist


The HIMARS Specialist will serve as Castelion’s internal subject matter expert (SME) on HIMARS employment, operations, and tactical integration. This individual will translate firsthand operational experience into actionable guidance for engineering, manufacturing, testing, and customer engagement teams.


You will play a critical role in ensuring our systems are intuitive, survivable, rapidly employable, and aligned with how warfighters actually operate.


Responsibilities


  • Serve as the internal SME on HIMARS operations, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
  • Provide operator-informed input into system architecture, human-machine interface (HMI), mobility concepts, and reload workflows
  • Advise engineering teams on real-world constraints including crew ergonomics, field maintenance, deployment timelines, and survivability considerations
  • Support design reviews to ensure operational realism is embedded in system decisions
  • Participate in field tests, live fire events, and mobility demonstrations to evaluate usability and mission flow
  • Assist Business Development and Program teams with customer engagement, CONOPS development, and operational briefings
  • Develop training concepts and documentation rooted in real operational experience
  • Identify capability gaps and improvement opportunities based on firsthand system use


Basic Qualifications


  • Prior experience operating the M142 HIMARS in an operational military environment
  • Deep understanding of HIMARS crew operations, mission planning, reload procedures, and fire mission execution
  • Experience in deployed, training, or live-fire environments
  • Ability to communicate operational insights clearly to engineering and technical teams
  • Active U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one


Preferred Skills and Experience


  • Experience serving as Section Chief, Platoon Sergeant, Fire Direction Specialist, or similar leadership role
  • Instructor or evaluator experience within a HIMARS unit
  • Exposure to joint fires integration and coordination with higher-echelon fire control systems
  • Familiarity with modern digital fire control and targeting workflows
  • Experience supporting acquisition, test, or modernization efforts

This role manages a small accounting team, owns the monthly close, ensures GAAP compliance, strengthens internal controls, and partners closely with the CFO and operational teams.

The Controller will not own FP&A, but will work in coordination with a Director of FP&A to ensure accurate and timely financial data flows between teams.

Job Purpose

Uses analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to work with department managers and investment project leaders in the creation of 6 budget events per year. Use professional accounting standards to ensure appropriate reporting of actual financial data and use analytical skills to provide detailed budget to actual analysis.

 

The Sr Financial Analyst supports and advises larger more complicated departments that have more complex accounting needs and larger financial impact than the Financial Analyst role. This is a secondary level that has more autonomy and increased individual discretion.

Key Accountabilities
  • Prepare month end close activities including analysis of complex financial information in order to create journal entries which impact the financial condition of American Honda Motors (AHM)/ Honda Development Manufacturing of America (HDMA) with very little supervision.
  • Prepare budget vs actual comparisons for responsible departments which are analyzed based on professional accounting standards to ensure accurate financial information and to advise management on future activity.
  • Use analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge and years of experience to work with the department managers and investment project leaders in complex areas in the creation of 6 budget events per year.
  • Use financial information to create presentations to advise department and division leaders of budget to actual condition and make recommendations for areas of improvement.

 

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years with Bachelor’s degree or 5 years minimum with Associate’s degree
  • Basic Accounting principles- GAAP/IFRS and Cost accounting background.
  • Strong understanding of accounting functions, terminology and ability to apply accounting concepts. •Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
