What you will do in this role:

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.   
• Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
• Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
• Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license. 
• Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. 
• Current ACLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• **Colleagues participating in a transition to practice program must have all required certifications at the completion of their program and transition to independent practice.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
•  Two to four years ICU acute care nursing experience is strongly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Demonstrates excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, leadership capabilities, ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities, and ability to plan and provide for delivery of nursing services. Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Demonstrates positive attitude.

• Minimum of 2 years clinical RN ICU Cardiac experience preferred. Two years progressive supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred. Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory and practice.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrates the ability to have direct patient care and charge nurse responsibilities. Ability to recognize the needs and concerns of people and to maintain constructive relationships in all interactions. Adheres to all departmental safety initiatives. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written manners. Participates in counseling and guidance of personnel. Ability to assume leadership role with the health team in planning and delivery of patient care.

Job Summary and Qualifications 

The Registered Nurse demonstrates knowledge and skills in the care of patients. Each service also requires specialized skills. The delivery of care is based on criteria that is age appropriate and is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individual patients. ​​The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse delivers high-quality, patient-centered care to pediatric patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. This role requires specialized clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the unique needs of pediatric cardiac patients. The RN collaborates closely with cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the broader perioperative team to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout the surgical continuum.

Our Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Department provides a broad range of services to aid in the screening, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions and emergent injuries. A few responsibilities of our Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech)include: 

You will operate x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body. 

Under the supervision of a Radiologist, your role performs x-ray therapy on patients and explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns. 

Your role will serve patients in our emergency department, patients in our hospital, and outpatient patients in need of services as well. 

You will perform procedures in accordance with established protocols for patients ages neonate through geriatric. 

Your role will be responsible for maintaining expert technical and patient-care skills and providing quality diagnostic results.  

What qualifications you will need:

• Completion of an AMA approved Radiology Technology training program with current certification by ARRT.
• Must maintain current registry by attending continuing education activities to maintain knowledge and skill level.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. 
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. 
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. 
• Prefer 2 years’ recent acute care experience. 

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (ARRT-R) Radiography must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
