RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transportation Planning:

Apply diverse knowledge of transportation planning principles across a wide spectrum of projects.

Develop and update transportation plans, policies, and programs that address current and future transportation needs.

Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Project Management:

Manage transportation projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with stakeholders.
Execute Tasks within project requirements and deadlines.
Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of engineering experience in development of multi-modal plans. Experience with active transportation plans, complete street plans, corridor plans, and safety plans preferred.

Licensure: AICP or PTP certification preferred

Skills:

Proficiency in transportation planning software and Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Job Summary

The Senior Platform Architect will lead the technical architecture, design, and modernization of large-scale, multi-tenant enterprise SaaS platforms built on Azure and the .NET stack. This role requires mastery of distributed systems, cloud-native design, and advanced engineering practices to deliver highly available, performant, and secure solutions for global consumer-facing SaaS and Agentic AI products.

Responsibilities and Duties

Architectural Design & Transformation

Lead migration from monolithic systems to modular monolith and microservices architectures using domain-driven design, bounded contexts, and decomposition strategies.
Design multi-tenant SaaS platforms with advanced tenant isolation, resource partitioning, and elastic scaling using Azure services.
Define and enforce architectural standards for .NET (C#), TypeScript, Angular, SQL Server, and Azure, including dependency injection, SOLID principles, asynchronous programming, and reactive patterns.
Design and implement distributed systems: service orchestration, API gateway management, IoT, edge computing, distributed transactions, eventual consistency, CQRS, and event sourcing.
Architect for cloud-native resiliency: circuit breakers, bulkheads, retries, failover, geo-redundancy, and disaster recovery using Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL.
Develop and maintain architecture documentation, reference models, and decision records using industry frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, C4 Model).

Performance Engineering & Observability

Establish and monitor platform SLOs (latency, throughput, error rates, availability) mapped to customer SLAs.
Architect and implement advanced caching strategies, indexing, and query optimization for SQL Server and NoSQL stores in coordination with Senior Data Architect, Data Engineers, and Database Admins.
Design and implement telemetry pipelines: distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry), structured logging, metrics collection, and real-time dashboards for system health and diagnostics.
Conduct performance profiling, load testing, and capacity planning for backend services and frontend applications.

Automation, Quality, and DevOps

Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines with automated build, test, security scanning, and deployment workflows.
Integrate static code analysis, code coverage, and quality gates into the development lifecycle.
Design and enforce automated testing strategies: unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end tests for backend and frontend components.

Required Experience & Skills

The Role

We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our engineering organization. 5+ years of experience in data engineering within cloud environments

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $115,523.42-$150,972.44. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking skilled Make-Ready Designers (primary focus) and Power Distribution Designers to support engineering programs for major electric and telecom utilities. Ideal candidates bring demonstrated experience in overhead utility pole design, NESC application, clearance assessment, pole loading analysis, and construction package development. Useful design platforms include DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or client-specific drafting systems.

In this role, you will review field/walkout data, evaluate existing attachment conditions, model pole loading, determine make-ready requirements, and prepare accurate construction-ready deliverables. Applicants without utility pole design or distribution engineering experience will not be considered.

Note: This position is remote, but new hires must attend a 2-week paid, in-person orientation at our Perrysburg, OH headquarters.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Execute overhead distribution and make-ready design work orders while meeting quality, time, and budget expectations
• Apply established engineering design standards, NESC requirements, and internal processes
• Perform end-to-end make-ready, joint-use, and/or general distribution design
• Conduct permitting and easement research (pole ownership, ROW, property rights, approvals)
• Collaborate with team members to resolve design challenges and ensure accurate deliverables
• Use design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, DDS, PoleForeman, O-Calc, Katapult, or client systems
• Perform quality control reviews when required
• Support additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or higher in engineering, drafting, or a related field is preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in make-ready engineering, joint-use design, or electric power distribution design (3+ years strongly preferred)
• Proven experience in utility pole design, including NESC application, clearance analysis, pole loading concepts, and preparation of construction-ready design packages
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; experience with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, or similar utility design platforms is strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of power distribution construction practices, with the ability to learn utility-specific proprietary systems efficiently
• Must hold a valid driver’s license, maintain active auto insurance, and pass all required background, drug, and MVR screenings
• Authorization to work in the United States is required
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including minimal overnight travel when project needs require
• Ability to work a standard Monday–Friday schedule aligned to Eastern Time, with Central/Mountain/Pacific adjustments as appropriate

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work for extended periods using a computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone
• Ability to prepare and analyze data, review detailed information, and work with design tools requiring close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written channels
