Charter Contracting Company, LLC is looking for an experienced Superintendent in the New England area. Charter is a growing Boston based Civil/Environmental Remediation Contractor with job sites throughout New England. Types of projects include but are not limited to environmental remediation, demolition, excavation, dredging, utility work, landfill cap and closures. All applicants must have a positive attitude, be highly motivated and willing to travel.


Candidates must have 5 plus years of experience as a Superintendent. Some of the major job duties include:

  • Plan and supervise all field related activities, including determining method of construction sequencing activities
  • Apply knowledge of applicable plans, specifications and project work scope
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the construction operation, including documentation of activities on a daily basis
  • Provide job cost information to the Project Manager and GS, including cost coding of invoices, monthly job cost quantity reporting and monthly pay requisition quantities
  • Monitor trade and subcontractor compliance with project safety program requirements, perform weekly safety inspections and tool box talks, and document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Assist Safety Manager in performing incident and/or accident investigations
  • Prepare for and attends status meetings
  • Train field personnel
  • Perform project close-out in concert with PM and ensure applicable punch list is completed in a cost effective timely manner

In addition to the job duties above the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications below:


  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Technology Preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Effective communication skills
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control
  • Ability to supervise multiple crews and subcontractors.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows
  • Basic survey experience preferred

This position will be HYBRID, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work.

Responsibilities As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include: 1.

Overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

Preparing and reviewing journal entries as part of the accounting cycle.

3.

Creating and analyzing financial statements, providing insights on financial health and performance.

4.

Implementing revenue recognition practices in line with accounting standards and company policies.

5.

Utilizing One Stream, NetSuite, and Workiva for financial planning, reporting, and data management.

6.

Helping to integrate new acquisitions.

7.

Collaborating with other team members on financial audits, compliance checks, and other accounting projects.

8.

Staying abreast of industry trends and regulations in the alternative energy sector.

9.

Serving as a key contributor to the company's financial strategy and long-term financial planning.

Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position should possess the following qualifications: 1.

CPA certification is preferred 2.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the energy or alternative energy industry.

3.

Prior experience with Big 4 accounting firms is highly desirable.

4.

Proficiency in One Stream, NetSuite, and Workiva software or similar ERP/Systems 5.

Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and practices.

6.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

7.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

8.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

9.

High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.

10.

Proactive, self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the government sector.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Experience with managing Accounts Receivable, reconciling bank accounts, preparing annual sales tax returns, preparing payroll journal entries, and overseeing cash flow.

Proficiency in preparing financial statements and balance sheets.

Experience with overseeing month-end closing processes and managing fixed assets.

Ability to prepare financial forecasts and maintain the general ledger.

Experience with financial reporting and proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
