SUMMARY: To prepare and stage press or laminator jobs. Prepress personnel are used in any capacity needed to stage items at any machine. They may retrieve and prepare cylinders for press run and after the press run, clean the cylinders and store them. All of these functions must be performed in the safest, most effective and efficient manner while adhering to established SOP's and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Facilitate on the job training and instruction for team members on the correct use of tools and equipment to ensure proper safety and operating procedures are followed.
  • Actively participate and embrace in the STOP Safety Program fundamentals and adhere to all safety guidelines and rules to aid APC's efforts to achieve a zero-accident rate.
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert in developing, understanding, and following Standard Operating Procedures and or training documentation.
  • Print and understand each job's Job Jacket, Print Specification, and Manufacturing Specification and take to the press.
  • Retrieve daily production schedule that identifies which job will run, quantities, priorities, etc. Interpret and act upon information.
  • Detect, report, and resolve all missing or substandard machine parts.
  • Use an automated storage system terminal to retrieve and return cylinders and anilox to storage.

  • Coordinates the efficient space layout and design of space and may coordinate an agency's relocation. Identify agency needs, which may include Integrated Services.
  • Coordinates the estimates and determines the budget responsibility for each project. Ensures all costs are properly allocated.
  • Classifies and assigns space, including blocks of space involving special requirements. Inspects and accepts space by measuring the space and ensuring that alterations meet agency requirements.
  • Requests reimbursable work authorizations. Work as part of an integrated realty team involving Account Managers, Asset Managers, Project Manages and Property Managers.
  • Coordinate the completion of the Occupancy Agreements on all Federal projects. Must have a thorough knowledge of the Occupancy Agreement tool and how projects are funded. Ability to bill client agencies through Rent Bill Management tool.
  • Ensures the assignment drawings for the Federal Buildings are kept up to date and accurate by working with the appropriate personnel for Property Management Centers, Space Planners and Data Manager to ensure the drawing comply with the Computer Integrated Facility Management Program (CIFM) and eSmart.

Knowledge Required by the Position:

  • In depth knowledge of agency policies, regulations and procedures, applicable Federal statutes, including the General Services Acquisition Regulations (GSAM), the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Federal Property Management Regulations (FPMR), with regard to property utilization, outleasing and management to perform work that may include complex issues.
  • Employee needs ability to use judgment and skill in performing coordination for matters involving special and diverse agency needs, frequently changing requirements or unanticipated changes in requirements.
  • Ability to integrate the disciplines of legal, appraisal, engineering, architecture, fire and life safety, urban planning and finance, so that projects are satisfactorily coordinated, analyzed and conflicts resolved.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing concerning realty matters. Experience:
  • At least 2 years of specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the full range of real estate programs including design, construction, building, space management, safety, environmental management and project management.

What this job involves –

Operates, inspects, and maintains all HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems in assigned facilities to obtain most efficient operating results and life expectancy. Assures that equipment is being maintained in an energy efficient, safe manner and down time is reduced to a minimum by anticipation of necessary repairs keeping records of past operating experiences. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc.  Strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all HVAC/R systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC and refrigeration and be multi skilled in electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Material Handling Equipment and others in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.

What is your day to day?   

  • Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed systems, equipment, and other components. 
  • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC/R systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds, and production equipment as it pertains to assigned buildings. 
  • Study and become familiar with the various items of equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities. 
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations. 
  • Submit P-card Receipts Daily 
  • Update work order status in real time 
  • Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed. 
  • Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license 
  • Must be available for Call-in work and perform other duties as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Universal CFC recovery certification (or within 90 days of employment) 
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with a strong background in the technical aspects of HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, production equipment repair and maintenance.  Knowledge of overall system design and applications. 
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial refrigeration and/or supermarket refrigeration. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems 
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel 
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration and HVAC
