As a Sr. Hardware Test Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a critical part of the Hardware Test team. This is a small team of broadly experienced engineers that strive to ensure that all hardware being produced meets the stringent requirements for aviation. You will be one of the essential interfaces between the design, production, and flight test teams and will be exposed to a wide variety of technical challenges.
You will be architecting automated test stands to replicate extreme flight conditions on our hardware and mechanisms that will serve as the backbone of our qualification testing. You will help to break our development hardware, help root-cause the failure modes, and provide critical input in redesigning it. You will be writing the software and building the hardware platforms for the command, control and data collection systems that will test our systems to rigorous aerospace standards. Responsibilities
Full ownership of the design, build, and maintenance of mechanical or electrical test stands for development testing, production acceptance testing, functional and environmental qualification testing
Automate the repetitive aspects of the test stands
Author, execute, and audit test plans, procedures, and reports

Basic Success Criteria
B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience

Professional knowledge of ECAD tools such as Altium OR MCAD tools such as NX
Experience with software design and implementation in Python or C/C++

As an Avionics Mechanical Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the Vehicle Design and Integration team and will report to the Vehicle Design and Integration Manager. This team is a small group of highly motivated people designing, testing, and flying advanced mechanical systems. The harness engineer is a very cross-functional role at the convergence of the avionics, mechanical, integration, and production teams, with significant hands-on work designing, building, integrating, and testing our harnesses, enclosures, and mounting hardware; expect to broaden your design and application experience. This position will be located at our facility in Mountain View, California.
Responsibilities
In your role as Avionics Mechanical Engineer you will work with the avionics, mechanical, and integration teams to define the hardware interfaces, design the detailed harnesses including definition of the harness routing, design and test enclosures for environmental protection, and design the structural mounts for securing the hardware in the airplane. You'll have the opportunity to design, install, and test your hardware on a remotely operated aircraft, and you'll be an instrumental part of how our hardware teams come together on the airplane.

As a Sr. Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the Flight Test and Integration team. The Flight Test and Integration team is responsible for multiple installation and test efforts at Reliable Robotics. In addition, this team has ownership over all ground and flight test operations within the organization. Responsibilities
In your role as Sr. Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer, you will assist in the design and installation of modified flight control systems, throughout the development of a remotely operated autoflight system. You will ensure the proper build-up of functions and capabilities, beginning in the lab and ending on the vehicle. Key Responsibilities • Build and customize simulation scenes in Isaac Sim that accurately reflect real-world robotic tasks and factory layouts • Develop synthetic data generation pipelines, including randomized object placement, sensor simulation, and multi-modal annotations (RGB, depth, segmentation, point clouds) • Implement and maintain data processing workflows, ensuring data quality, traceability, and compatibility with ML training pipelines • Optimize simulation performance and realism, tuning physics parameters, asset fidelity, and rendering configurations for scalable experimentation • Collaborate with robotics engineers and ML scientists to align simulation outputs with model requirements and support sim2real transfer • Conduct hands-on testing and debugging, iterating on simulation setups and synthetic data strategies to improve model robustness • Document workflows and contribute to best practices, enabling reproducibility and knowledge sharing across teams Required Qualifications • MSc or PhD in Robotics, Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, or related field • 3+ years of hands-on experience in robotics simulation, synthetic data generation, or virtual environment development • Proficiency with Isaac Sim, Omniverse, or similar simulation platforms • Strong programming skills in Python and C++, with experience in simulation APIs and data annotation tools • Familiarity with 3D vision, sensor modeling, and domain randomization techniques • Experience integrating simulation outputs into ML pipelines for training and evaluation Preferred Qualifications • Experience with robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS/ROS2, MoveIt, Nav2) • Experience with robotics simulation platforms (e.g., IsaacSim, MoJoCo, Gazebo) or Game engine (e.g., Unreal, Unity) • Background in industrial automation, autonomous vehicles, or robotic manipulation • Publications or contributions in simulation, synthetic data, or robotics venues (e.g.
ICRA, RSS, CVPR) • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices such as Bash, Github, Bazel, Docker
Description:
· Develop test procedures to evaluate in-vehicle for NVH performance.
· Acquire and interpret NVH data to guide design decisions and optimize vehicle acoustic performance.
· Work closely with Vehicle Integration, Body, Chassis, and Thermal teams to drive the design for NVH.
· Support target setting and cascade process for vehicle-level NVH performance.
· Perform - at a vehicle and component level - testing and assessments to improve airborne and structure-borne noise performance in prototypes and production vehicles.
Qualifications:
· Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related field. Master’s or PhD preferred.
· 2-6+ years of relevant experience.
· Strong fundamentals in structural dynamics, acoustics, and digital signal processing.
· Proficiency in using NVH data acquisition systems, accelerometers, microphones.
· Experience in performing modal testing and order analysis.
· Strong fundamental understanding of digital signal processing, psychoacoustics, and the use of sound quality metrics to record, track and report NVH performance in an appropriate manner.
· Experience of Siemens TestLab and/or Artemis Suite.
Preferred:
· Previous experience taking a vehicle from concept to production.
· Experience in NVH characterization and fault detection using microphones, acoustic cameras, particle velocity probes, etc...
· Experience working on Road & Tire Noise.
· Experience in Buzz, Squeak & Rattler (BSR) issues.
· Experience in Operational Sound Quality (OSQ) issues.
· Experience working with cross-functional teams.
