Job Title: EDS Component Design Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced EDS Component Design Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical distribution system (EDS) components for next-generation electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs. The role will involve full lifecycle responsibility from concept design through validation, testing, and manufacturing launch.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in wire harness components and power distribution systems, working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, purchasing, finance, and suppliers to deliver high-quality automotive components.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop EDS components including shields, troughs, grommets, connectors, terminals, and power distribution components.
• Support development from concept (clean sheet design) through virtual validation, testing, sign-off, and manufacturing launch.
• Collaborate with purchasing and finance teams to create technical specifications for sourcing and supplier quoting.
• Develop and maintain a standard library of core EDS components aligned with global automotive standards.
• Work closely with VW Group module owners and suppliers to define and release wiring and power distribution components.
• Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and U.S. regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to production facility design for electric trucks and SUVs.
• Manage supplier deliverables to meet cost, quality, and program timing targets.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and consumer experience.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive wire harness or power distribution component design.
• Strong expertise in EDS component design and release processes.

What you’ll be doing:

The required work is cyclical and will change during a project from early schedule planning to CV build management. The required work will start with early process planning for jigs and tooling. And finish with leading CV build activity for welding and paint processes.

• Grasp key project requirements to set early process targets and strategy.
• In-house process planning considering Safety /Quality / Productivity/ Cost
• Develop and maintain Operation Plan (OP) for in-house process, tooling and vendor activity.

Role Overview

We are looking for a PLM Engineer with strong experience in ENOVIA and the 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) platform to support product lifecycle management and Bill of Materials (BOM) management activities. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background and experience managing product structures, configuration control, and engineering change processes within PLM environments.

This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure accurate product data and efficient lifecycle management within the ENOVIA / 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evaluation of AI and generative AI solutions, including LLM-based systems, and agent-based workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Master's or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in data science or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years in a project leadership role.

• Experience building and deploying production solutions

• Experience with MLOps tools and practices, including MLflow (or similar) for experiment tracking and model management.

• 2+ years of experience in Insurance, actuarial, or a related field

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python

• Strong expertise in machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

• Solid understanding of statistical analysis, data visualization, data wrangling techniques, NLP approaches, ML model selection.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking skilled Make-Ready Designers (primary focus) and Power Distribution Designers to support engineering programs for major electric and telecom utilities. Ideal candidates bring demonstrated experience in overhead utility pole design, NESC application, clearance assessment, pole loading analysis, and construction package development. Useful design platforms include DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or client-specific drafting systems.

In this role, you will review field/walkout data, evaluate existing attachment conditions, model pole loading, determine make-ready requirements, and prepare accurate construction-ready deliverables. • Conduct permitting and easement research (pole ownership, ROW, property rights, approvals)
