Job Duties & Responsibilities: Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant NP / PA

  • Diagnosing, treating, and helping patients manage acute and chronic illnesses
  • Conducting physical examinations and interpreting medical history
  • Ordering and performing diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Prescribing age-specific physical therapy and rehabilitation
  • Prescribing pharmacologic treatments (depends on state regulation)
  • Performing minor surgeries and procedures
  • Counseling and educating patients about preventive measures to avoid illness

Education & Experience: Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant NP / PA

  • Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent PA program degree
  • Current valid state license
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or PA
  • 1+ year experience a must
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or specialty certification as required by department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial orthopedic telehealth and in person visits including but not limited to diagnosis, ordering imaging, and referring patients for in person care when appropriate.
  • The in person visits will be at a PCP office (exact location TBD) performing orthopedic exams and injections.
  • Build trust with patients through empathy, knowledge, experience, and shared decision making
  • Communicate and collaborate with physical therapists, physicians, and other members of the Icon clinical team
  • Create the patient?s personalized treatment plan and along with your dedicated care coordinator, determine next steps and navigate the patient through the journey
  • Participate in Icon product enhancement through feedback on the current technology platform
