We’re looking for an operating room Surgical Technologist with OR experience. Our Technologist are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practice.

 

  • Assist Surgeons and nurses with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique and surgical procedures in the operating room.
  • Observes patients for symptoms which may indicate a change in condition and reports to appropriate member of medical team for immediate action.
  • Prepares tissue and other specimens for lab analysis.
  • Maintains the inventory of sterile surgical supplies to ensure their immediate availability.
  • Prepares the operating room for surgery by assembling routine supplies, materials, instruments, and equipment; obtains special supplies indicated by physician.
  • Follows procedures for pre and post-operative accounting of sharps, sponges and instruments used in the surgical set up.
  • Accountable for the care and handling of instruments and equipment.
  • Maintains inventory of sterile surgical supplies to ensure immediate availability.
  • Operates sterilization equipment for the proper sterilization of surgical instruments.
  • Follows established sterilization policy and procedures.
  • May assist with the completion of patient records and other required medical forms.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the principles of sterile technique and infection control; practices appropriate procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Appropriately cleans surgical instruments and equipment. Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Individuals are not yet able to float between specialties.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of a surgical technician training program or equivalent job training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

Our service lines include General, GYN, Urology, Bariatrics, Robotics, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Podiatry, ENT, Skull Base, OMFS, Plastics, and CVOR. We are staffed 365 day a year. There can be some late, on call and/or holiday requirements as well as a rotation to cover overnight shifts and weekend shifts for those dedicated teams. There is an orientation period of 8-12 weeks, depending on experience.

  • Under general supervision, evaluates and implements the care of adult and geriatric patients undergoing mammography and breast related invasive procedures.
  • Assesses assigned patients needs by reviewing the radiology request, the patient's medical history, admitting diagnosis, and physician's orders.
  • Assesses the patient's physical needs, evaluates diagnostic data, and interviews the patient and family.
  • Prioritizes imaging needs for an assigned group of patients. Collaborates with other members of the health team to determine patient care priorities.
  • Assists in identifying complex patient problems related to symptoms, behavioral changes, and abnormal diagnostic data.
  • Evaluates patient's response of procedural care delivery. Practices radiation protection techniques.
  • Takes precautions to minimize patient and staff exposure to x-radiation. Notifies supervisor of safety issues as they occur.
  • Assures continuity and quality of care through effective decision-making and continuous patient assessment.
  • Anticipates potential patient crisis through continual evaluation of patient care. Assists with appropriate care interventions for identified patient problems.
  • Utilized standards of care and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the radiologic procedure. Involves the patient and or significant others in the radiologic process. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered with the ARRT.
  • They must have a minimum of two (2) years experience with one (1) year in Mammography.
  • Advanced certification in Mammography is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

The clinical pharmacist I practices as a pharmacy generalist in one or more patient care areas. In addition to direct patient care activities, this position is responsible for participating in departmental or institutional quality, safety, and cost-saving initiatives. Practices as a clinical pharmacist generalist in one or more patient care areas. Ensures appropriate therapy and institutional outcomes. Consistently provides patient-centered, interdisciplinary pharmaceutical care. Proactively reviews and processes orders accurately and efficiently.

 

  • Prevents and/or resolves drug-related problems to ensure safety, efficacy, and cost-efficiency by consulting with the ordering prescriber and appropriately documents. Performs daily in-depth patient profile review to assess, monitor and recommend appropriate drug therapy as applicable. Consistently evaluates, intervenes, and documents clinical interventions according to institutional protocols and guidelines. Accurately evaluates the usefulness of medical literature in optimizing evidenced based care.
  • Monitors drug therapy regimens and makes recommendations or modifications per protocol. Utilizes system nomograms and other guidelines. Documents clinical activities and adverse drug events. Attends medical codes as applicable. Follows, maintains, and reinforces system policies and processes for proper dosing, storage, handling, dispensing, and/or administration of medications and compounded products. Handles conflict and problems, including ethical issues, constructively and appropriately. Appropriately engages with other clinical pharmacists and leadership as needed. Engages with other clinical pharmacists for complex clinical situations.
  • Uses effective patient education materials and techniques for drug therapy, adverse effects, compliance, appropriate use, handling and drug administration education. Participates in coordination of transitions of care as appropriate. Responsible for service completion and patient satisfaction. Maintains clinical competency through licensure and departmental requirements. Serves as preceptor for pharmacy students or provides at least one educational in service annually. Precepts pharmacy students and residents as available. Assist in training of department of pharmacy and other disciplines. May participate in research and publication opportunities.
  • Active engagement within departmental mentorship and collaboration programs. Recognizes process failures and actively engages in analysis and improvement efforts. Participates in at least one medication use evaluation or quality improvement project annually. Oversees the work performed by pharmacy students, technicians and pharmacists to ensure performance standards are maintained and work is in accordance with state, federal and organizational regulations. Documents adverse drug reactions and medication variances per policy.
  • Follows, maintains, and reinforces medication use policies and processes to ensure financial medication stewardship. Supports cost-savings initiatives. Engages in review of medication insurance authorization status as applicable. Maintains understanding of 340b practices as applicable. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. .


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of relevant experience, Pharmacy Specialty Board certification or ASHP- Accredited Post Graduate Year 1 pharmacy residency preferred. One year of experience will be waived for candidates who have been employed as student/interns within the Emory Healthcare system.
  • Active Georgia Pharmacist license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required within 90 days. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months, if directly applicable to practice specialty.

We're seeking an experienced Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Technologist with a Blood Bank & Transfusion Service background. 

 

Shifts Available: 

 

  • 5:30am - 4pm, rotating weekends and holidays

  • 7am - 5:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays

  • 12pm - 10:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays
  • 2:30pm - 1:00am, rotating weekends & holidays 
  • 8pm - 6:30am, rotating weekends and holidays

 

Job Duties:

  • Performs various laboratory tests and procedures while adhering to standard operating procedures on patient specimens to assist in the diagnosis, study and treatment, or prevention of disease.
  • May perform tests including but not limited to standardized and semi-routine biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, immunohematological, microbiological, and serological tests in a research or clinical laboratory.
  • May serve as key operator for implementation of new equipment and procedures.
  • In complex cases, evaluates all information and determines whether test results should be released, repeated, or referred to a pathologist. Refers abnormal or unexpected results to the appropriate individual(s).
  • May serve on laboratory's safety committee; write and maintain safety and infection control policies and procedures, and ensure correct Safety Data Sheets are maintained.
  • May teach medical technology theory and techniques while providing guidance to lower level technologists; develop teaching plans and student assessment tools; prepare written examinations.
  • May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture to obtain blood specimen.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Blood Bank specific experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a chemical, physical or biological science.
  • Other bachelor's degree will be accepted if graduated from an accredited school and science and math coursework meet requirements of certifying agency.
  • Bachelor's degree may be waived for a medical technologist who was ASCP certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degree requirement by ASCP and a HEW/HHS technologist certified by Health and Human Services.
  • Certified by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), MT (HHS or HEW), MT (AAB), generalist or categorical if applicable.
  • Two years experience required.

  • Prioritizes imaging needs for an assigned group of patients. Collaborates with other members of the health team to determine patient care priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered with the ARRT.
  • They must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with one (1) year in Mammography.
  • Advanced certification in Mammography is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

The Occupational Therapist II serves as a primary clinician, providing comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, treatments, and education to patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Licensure: A valid, unencumbered Occupational Therapist License approved by Georgia Board of Occupational Therapy.

 

Certifications: 1. Basic Life Support (BLS) 2. Must maintain their certification with NBCOT.
