The Vice President of Operations – San Antonio will lead all operational activities at our newest North American manufacturing campus. This executive will play a critical role in launching, scaling, and optimizing what will become one of the company’s flagship global facilities.
The role serves as a strategic partner to:
- Group COO (UK-based) – Directive, accountability-driven, fostering autonomy and decisiveness
- North America COO (U.S.-based) – Directive, driven, consultative
- North America CEO (U.S.-based) – Collaborative and consultative
This reporting structure requires executive maturity, cultural agility, and the ability to balance independence with global alignment.
This position carries significant visibility and is viewed as a succession path to the COO role within approximately 24–36 months, based on performance and impact.
Key Areas of Accountability
Launch & Scale-Up Leadership
- Lead the startup and rapid ramp-up of the San Antonio manufacturing operation.
- Develop and execute workforce planning, capital deployment, production ramp strategy, automation integration, and optimized material flow.
- Oversee manufacturing transfers and new product introductions (NPI).
Operational Strategy & Performance
- Develop and execute a forward-looking 3–5-year operations strategy aligned with our North American growth objectives.
- Establish an advanced manufacturing environment leveraging automation, digital factory systems, and modern logistics methodologies.
- Deliver performance across safety, quality, cost, delivery, productivity, service, and capital efficiency metrics.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Embed a Lean and continuous improvement culture across the facility.
- Lead modernization initiatives including process redesign, digital transformation, and logistics optimization.
- Achieve year-over-year gains in productivity, cost efficiency, and quality performance.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Build and develop a high-performing operations leadership team.
- Recruit, coach, and advance top operational talent to support long-term growth and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
- Partner closely with Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, HR, and Commercial teams.
- Align with global operations leaders to ensure consistency in standards, best practice exchange, and execution discipline.
Required Experience
- Extensive senior operations leadership experience within complex, high-volume manufacturing environments (OEM, Tier 1, industrial machinery, automotive, heavy equipment, or similar).
- Proven success launching or scaling new manufacturing sites.
- Deep expertise in Lean, continuous improvement, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Strong command of P&L-adjacent operational metrics including cost, quality, throughput, capex, and health & safety.
- Demonstrated success leading large, diverse teams, including experience in multi-site environments.
- Experience leading within a workforce with a strong Latino employee base.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA preferred.
