• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (ISO 13485 & AS9100)
• Own document control: procedures, forms, records, revision history, approvals, and training linkage
• Write and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions (WI) that are usable on the shop floor
• Build/maintain templates and “quality infrastructure” (CAPA, NCR, MRB, supplier scorecards, audit checklists, etc.) so quality work is repeatable and fast
  
  

• Maintain and execute quality control plans and inspection procedures (incoming, in-process, final)
• Review and approve production travelers/routers, inspection reports, and batch records for completeness and compliance
• Support measurement and inspection activity as needed (hands-on), including working with GD&T intent and drawing requirements
• Own calibration control and measurement system discipline (gage control, basic MSA/Gage R&R where appropriate)
  
  

• Lead nonconformance containment, disposition (MRB), and corrective/preventive action
• Drive root cause analysis using structured methods (5-Why, fishbone, etc.)
• Use data (scrap, rework, yield, escapes, supplier defects) to prioritize improvements and prevent recurrence
• Audits, suppliers, and external requirements
• Plan and lead internal audits; coordinate/support customer and certification audits
• Own supplier quality activities: supplier evaluations, incoming inspection strategy, supplier corrective actions, and performance tracking
• Partner with engineering and operations to ensure purchasing controls and material traceability meet customer and regulatory requirements
  
  

• Lead/coordinate validation activities such as IQ/OQ/PQ and process/product qualification, ensuring documentation traceability and clear acceptance criteria
• Support transition from development work into repeatable production (control plans, risk reviews, inspection plans, recordkeeping)
  
  

• Collaborate daily with production, engineering, and program leadership to solve problems and improve execution
• Various other tasks as required in a small business
  
  

• Engineering degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
• 7+ years in manufacturing quality engineering with direct responsibility for process performance improvement
• Demonstrated track record of reducing defect rates, scrap, or variation through statistical and engineering-based methods
• Advanced root cause analysis experience involving complex, multi-variable manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in statistical tools (SPC, DOE, regression analysis, Cp/Cpk analysis) with hands-on software experience (Minitab, JMP, or equivalent)
• Experience implementing sustainable corrective actions that changed process capability (not temporary containment measures)
• Prior experience working in a regulated/certified quality system (ISO 13485 and/or AS9100 experience strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain clear procedures, records, and traceability
• Adeptness to operate hands-on in a production environment and communicate effectively with engineers and technicians

The Role We Want You For

In this role, you will manage the organization and direction of project construction activities and oversee total site management including supervision of client contractors, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, and finance and accounting. Your leadership will ensure project operations are compliant, safe, timely, within scope and budget, and clients are satisfied. This key project leader for Clayco’s Field Operations team will oversee construction of 100MM - 500MM or more and will be assigned to the as the Construction Manager/Superintendent in the Life Sciences / Pharmaceuticals division.

The Specifics of the Role

• Responsible for the organization and direction of all on-site construction related activities and the primary contact for all project field activities.
• Ensure construction operations are in compliance with design, specifications, and that construction operations are completed on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
• Responsible for site management including management of construction subcontractors, professional staff to include field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting services, and workforce services. Responsible for managing and maintaining detailed daily reports.
• Ensures the development and execution of project automation plan, environmental compliance plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, construction execution plan, and job-site work rules.
• Responsible for implementation of Clayco’s safety program, security, housekeeping, and fire protection on the construction site and ensures strict adherence Federal and State safety codes.
• Ensures the field organization is composed of qualified and knowledgeable personnel and ensures effective personnel utilization.
• Establishes and implements construction schedules, methods, manning charts, material, and equipment requirements.
• Responsible for field project performance and analyzes performances for adherence to quality standards and schedules.
• Plans and establishes procedures to ensure all construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
• Ensures Clayco’s policies and procedures are fully implemented.
• Establishes project field procedures to be worked in conjunction with the Clayco’s standards, as necessitated by project conditions.
• Collaborates with the jobsite team to ensure labor harmony throughout the project.
• Partners with the project management team to maintain effective client relationship and is the primary contact for client's communication with the field activities.
• Maintains effective relationships with other functional departments.
• Develops, implements, and administers a job-site security plan and coordinates the activities with Clayco’s security department.
• Works with the project management team to participate in all job-site's contractual activities. Participates in contracts and subcontracts negotiations.
• Participates in the development and implementation of a training program to ensure subordinate personnel receives progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities and is responsible for overall development of construction training and any testing as required.
• Works with Clayco’s safety team in the development of the project safety program and ensures strict adherence to Company, federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Ensures the implementation of an effective community relations plan for the site.
• Ensures required permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the affected work at site.
• Responsible and accountable for construction license reporting to include construction Logbook entries and required notifications for permit closure.
• Partners with the project management team for the implementation of cost savings methodologies in the Construction organization and the promotion of other continuous improvement processes.
• Ensures development and execution of strategies and plans for project automation, environmental compliance, safety, site surveying, non-manual staffing, contracting, labor strategy, construction execution, and job-site work rules.
• Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
• Coordinate with the Field Operations Manager for all assignment of Superintendent and Foreman positions.
• Support Superintendent(s) throughout the duration of the job.
• Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foreman.
• Document project field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule, and provide to the project management team.
• Ensure subcontractor requests for field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule are documented and are forwarded to the project management team.
• Follow guidelines of the Project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program written for the job site.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related technical degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
• 20-25 years of relevant experience, with progressive responsibility and technical knowledge both scope and value of project.
• Technical knowledge and experience of relevant construction methods and systems including:
• Utility relocates and slope stability works.
• Full understanding of multiple mission critical platforms.
• Full understanding and working knowledge of high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage systems. General understanding of BMS and EPMS Systems.
• Full understanding and coordination of Utility relocations, underground medium voltage systems, and BIM modeling coordination of ALL utilities both above and below ground.
• Full understanding and managing of all LOTO procedure's and FOD inspections for all systems.
• Ability to research and understand local codes and jurisdictional requirements for the project.
• Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience with successful interface management on Data Center/Mission Critical projects.
• OSHA 30 required.
• Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
• Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Decision making: Responsible for making decisions surrounding vehicle diagnostics and repair
  
  
• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including: standard vehicle maintenance, preventive maintenance, complex repairs with minimal (if any) support
  
  
• Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents - Diagnoses and repairs complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal (if any) support, utilizing diagnostic computers/software when applicable
  
  
• Performs remote triage to with RCRC and customers to determine best solution to assist roadside breakdowns
  
  
• Performs facility maintenance duties
  
  
• Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
  
  
• Instructs and advises other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics

• Charging Systems (electrical): Visually inspect batteries; Clean connections; Check condition of belts; Test batteries; Check alternator mounting and pulley; Replace and adjust belts; Perform basic charging system check
  
  
• Clutch: Lubricate throw-out bearing, linkage, shafts, and cables; Identify proper clutch operation; Identify proper clutch brake operation
  
  
• Cooling Systems: Check and adjust coolant levels; Visually inspect system for leaks; Make minor repairs such as hose replacements, fan shrouds, leaking fittings; Recognize permanent antifreezes and their requirements; Use refractometer; Use pressure tester; Flush and refill systems
  
  
• Cranking System (electrical): Inspect and test batteries; Visually inspect cables and cranking motor; Clean the battery cables, connections and starter; Replace batteries; Charge and check batteries; Replace or repair defective cables
  
  
• Lighting System and Electrical Accessories: Repair minor wiring problems; Replace bulbs, lenses and simple light assemblies; Repair minor lighting problems; Replace and adjust sealed beams; Install or replace accessories such as heated mirrors, fans, spotlights
  
  
• Drive Axles: Inspect housings for leaks; Change oil and filter, if required, and clean breathers
  
  
• Driveline: Lubricate drive line; Inspect components for wear or damage
  
  
• Gas Engines-All Engines: Check and adjust oil levels; Identify unusual noises, and oil leaks
  
  
• Fuel Systems: Replace and prime fuel filter; Check gas and diesel fuel system components such as fuel lines, pickup tubes, return lines, etc, for proper integrity and condition
  
  
• Preventive Maintenance: Proper lube techniques; Minimal tire inspection; Brake check/applied stroke; Battery check; Under vehicle check/loose components; Initial Fault code identification; All PMs (PM298) including C supplements to exclude overheads, engine brake overhauls, DPF servicing, clean doser injector, servicing ArvinMeritor unitized hubs, inspect Lece Neville alternator brushes, inspect modulator system for proper operation, inspect/adjust shift selector cable, pop test Isuzu injectors
  
  
• Steering and Non-driven Axles and Alignment: Lubricate grease fittings, check and adjust fluid levels; Check and adjust toe; Check all steering components for wear; Check and adjust trailer axle alignment; Adjust wheel bearings including replacement of wheel seal
  
  
• Suspension-Chassis and Cab: Identify makes and models; Identify normal operation; Identify and repair minor air leaks; Identify malfunctions of basic nature, broken springs, excessive wear on bushings, etc
  
  
• Tire and Wheel Maintenance: Perform air pressure checks; Check tread depth; Identify tires that need to be changed or repaired; Perform tire P.M. checks; Replace tire and wheel assemblies; Mount/dismount and rotate tires; Perform tire/wheel checks/repairs per (TW298)
  
  
• Vehicle Coupling System (PM): Lubricate fifth wheel plate and slider mechanism; Operate slider mechanism
  
  
• Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available. Perform work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e. safety, DOT). Use internal and external maintenance documents
  
  
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  
• Ensure proper maintenance of all service, safety and environmental records required to meet and/or exceed corporate, federal, state, and local government mandated requirements.
  
  
• Accountable for key maintenance measurements established by company policy, related to the inspection and performance of PMs, brakes, tires, wheels, including any maintenance items directly associated with the safety of the customer.
