The Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience, Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a project funded by NIH.
Key Responsibilities
Airway hyperresponsiveness andairway inflammation are hallmarks of asthma that is clinically managed with 2-agonist bronchodilatorsand inhaled corticosteroids. Refractory asthma manifests with persistent symptoms despite the use of high-dose oral corticosteroids and long-acting 2-agonists and poses a major healthcare challenge. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of therapeutic resistance and developing strategies to overcome such resistance poses a significant unmet need.
We are seeking a talented, highly motivated individual who is broadly interested in the molecular and cellular basis of refractory asthma. Our research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of therapeutic resistance and developing new strategies to overcome such resistance inrefractory asthma.
An ideal candidate will be expected to develop the project independently and will also have the opportunity to interact and participate in other studies of our multidisciplinary group in the lab and throughout the department. Our research team highly values creativity and independence in a collaborative and collegial academic environment.
A successful candidate will have a doctorate in areas related to cell and molecular biology, immunology, signal transduction, and asthma supported by strong publications. Prior experience in airway smooth muscle cells and mouse models of asthma would be advantageous.
The candidate will also be asked to assist in training of laboratory staff and graduate students in research techniques as well as writing grant proposals. This is a full time, grant funded role.

Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow for the newly opened Hair Cell Damage and Protection Lab.
The position provides opportunities to develop independent research projects on auditory neuroscience, career development, and gain hands-on experience with advanced techniques including calcium imaging, super-resolution microscopy, auditory brain stem response (ABR), and RNA-seq.
The position also offers training and mentoring in science communication, leadership development, and project management. This position is a fully grant funded for 3 years. starting as soon as July 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal Investigator in setting up calcium imaging and ABR equipment for experiments
- Working with the PI and team, design and execute research in rats and zebrafish, including ABR, calcium and/or confocal imaging, pharmacology, and behavior

SUMMARY:
The Department of Pharmacy has the responsibility for the implementation and coordination of drug control in the process of providing pharmaceutical care for patients of all ages within the Medical Center. The Clinical Pharmacist has the direct responsibility for the provision of quality and timely care to the patients of the Medical Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

*Ensures that medications and combinations of medications dispensed constitute rational drug therapy; if questions arise regarding the rational nature of drug therapy, the Staff Pharmacist shall contact the appropriate health professional(s) in the course of patient care.

*Encourages prescribers and other health professionals to use the Medical Center formulary; maintains control of the formulary system by contacting prescribers and other health professionals when a non-formulary drug is ordered and suggests appropriate formulary alternatives.
*Performs discharge medication teaching for patients receiving discharge medications from the Medical Center pharmacies and/or upon request.
*Performs pharmacokinetic dosage calculations and evaluations as determined by the therapeutic needs of the patient.

*Assists in the orientation, training, and assessment of Department personnel.
*Participates in Pharmacy Department assisted investigational drug studies to ensure appropriate dispensing and required maintenance of research records.
*Is accountable for the timely, safe, and accurate distribution of medications, including the frequent use of professional judgment with regard to medication acquisition, storage, packaging, distribution, and use.
*Is accountable for the transcription and evaluation of physician medication orders, preparation of patient specific unit dose medications, preparation of sterile admixture solutions, extemporaneous compounding, controlled substance distribution, and outpatient medication preparation / dispensing.
*Ensures the quality of pharmaceuticals within the Medical Center by performing assigned patient care area inspections and removing from the assigned areas recalled, defective, expired, or inappropriately stored pharmaceuticals.
*Clinically supervises pharmacy technicians throughout their shift to ensure the completion of assigned tasks; responsible for the tasks completed by the pharmacy technician.
*Adheres to safety and security procedures to promote a safe and secure environment.
*Compounds and dispenses medication orders accurately using proper labeling and documentation according to Pharmacy policies and procedures, State law and Federal law.
*Uses available reference sources to respond to drug information requests and as appropriate refer questions to health professionals with a more extensive experience with the particular request.
*Reports and documents medication variances.
*Provides accurate drug information regarding drug therapy indications, dosage, administration, adverse effects, interactions, IV compatibility and formulary recommendations to physicians, nurses, patients, and

Job Summary
The Long Term Care(LTC) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. Collaborates with resident and family, other inter-disciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting. Cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Responsible for the coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education and various other nursing interventions.
May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to license and unlicensed assistive personnel that are within the job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and the competence level of the delegate. Provides adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
Qualifications
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
