Job Description
Uncommon Special Education teachers are passionate about developing and monitoring accommodations for students with special needs. Special Education teachers advocate for students and believe that specialized instruction and related services increase academic achievement. Special Education teachers offer academic, emotional, and physical support while maintaining high expectations.
Responsibilities
1. Instruction
- You'll modify, differentiate, and teach an inclusive curriculum that emphasizes diversity.
- You'll collaborate with families and Special Education teams to develop 504 and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that offer appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- You'll create an inclusive and safe environment where students feel empowered to become self-guided learners.
2. Special Education Specific Responsibilities
- You'll collaborate with general education teachers, school leaders, and families to analyze and respond to trends in student work samples and assessments and ensure compliance with Individualized Education Plans.
- You will gather academic growth data and write goals to prepare for annual IEP meetings.
- You will teach pull-out, push-in, small group, and one-on-one instruction and implement strategies to differentiate instruction for all learners in your classroom.

- Required Experience:
- A demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred).
- Academic expertise in Special Education, the Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, or related fields of study.
- Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Teacher certification is not a prerequisite for consideration at Uncommon Schools in the state of NJ, but you do need to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements (a final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 if you graduated prior to 9/1/16). All instructional staff are required to become certified in the state of New Jersey within a reasonable period after beginning employment.

Compensation
Compensation for this role is between $56,000 to $80,000.
Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant full-time teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time Teaching experience will likely have a starting salary of $56,000.

The Opportunity
As a dedicated Property Adjuster Specialist , you will work within established guidelines and framework to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property insurance claims presented by or against our members. You will confirm and analyzes coverage, recognize liability exposure and negotiate equitable settlements in compliance with all state regulatory requirements.
Property Adjuster Specialist focus on using technology and desk adjusting for a virtual first approach to inspections and claims handling. USAA also provides a company vehicle to physically inspect losses within your locally assigned territory. Field Adjusters may travel outside of their local territory to respond to claims in other regions when needed. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with paid overtime available.

What you'll do:Proactively manages assigned claims caseload comprised of complex damages that require commensurate knowledge and understanding of claims coverage including potential legal liability.
Partners with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate complex claims resolution. May also involve external regulatory coordination to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance.
Investigates claim damages by conducting research from various sources, including the insured, third parties, and external resources. May identify and resolve potential discrepancies and identifies subrogation potential resulting from unusual characteristics.
Identifies coverage concerns, reviews prior loss history, determines and creates Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals, when appropriate. Determines coverage through analyzing information involving complex policy terms and contingencies.
Determines and negotiates complex claims settlement within authority limits. Develops recommendations and collaborates with management for determining settlement amounts outside of authority limits and accurately manages claims outcomes.
Maintains accurate, thorough, and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process.
Advance knowledge of estimating technology platforms and virtual inspection tools. Utilizes platforms and tools to prepare claims estimates to manage complex property insurance claims.
Supports workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations as needed, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and/or holiday work outside normal work hours.
May be assigned CAT deployment travel with minimal notice during designated CATs.
Works various types of claims, including ones of higher complexity, and may be assigned additional work outside normal duties as needed.
Works independently solving complex problems with minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Adjusts complex claims with attorney involvement.
Recognizes and addresses jurisdictional challenges such as applicable legislation and construction considerations.
May require travel to resolve claims, attend training, and conduct in-person inspections.

2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience of moderate complexity losses that includes writing estimates, involving dwelling and structural damages.
Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools and platforms.
Proficient knowledge of residential construction.
Proficient knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law and state laws and regulations.
Proficient negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Proven investigatory, analytical, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel 50-75% of the year (local & non-local) and/or work catastrophe duty when needed.
Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
5 years of prior field experience handling higher severity/complex losses (i.e. vandalism, malicious mischief, foreclosures, earth movement, collapse, liability, etc.)
Prior experience adjusting property claims using virtual technologies
Prior property field adjuster experience handling DWG, APS and ALE adjustments
Industry designations such as AINS, CPCU, AIC, SCLA (or actively pursuing)
Xactimate Level 1 and/or Level 2 certification
Prior deployments in support of catastrophes
Currently hold an active Adjuster License

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $69,920.00 - $133,620.00.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her patients in the Emergency Department. He / She communicates with the physician about the changes in the patients clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
5. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
6. Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
7. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
2. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
4. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
6. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
7. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
8. Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

Job Summary
Provides leadership on a wide variety of legal issues in the area of specialization. Oversees projects and develops innovative strategies to resolve legal challenges. Provides legal advice and representation to the Board of Education and the School District of Philadelphia and its employees. Works under the supervision of the General Counsel and specializes in one of the following areas: charter school law, claims, commercial litigation, civil rights and torts, federal and state grants compliance, labor and employment, real estate, special education, school law and transactions (contracts) or environmental..
Essential Functions
• Represents the School District, the Board of Education and District officers and employees in varied transactions and litigation.
• Serves as a key contributor and handles the most complex legal issues; provides assessments and solutions which are optimal for the School District and the Board of Education.
• Leads, supports and trains Assistant General Counsel staff on law matters in the area of specialization and on particular subject areas.
• Conducts Districtwide professional development to encourage effective and efficient management controls; participates in and facilitates seminars to effect positive dialogue and relations in school legal matters.
• Participates in the planning and implementation of programs and activities in the Office of General Counsel.
• Provides legal advice and counsel to Board members, officers and employees on a wide range of education, labor and employment, litigation and business issues.
• Prevents legal claims by identifying potential risks and making appropriate recommendations.
• Defends law suits and claims by discussing matters with opposing counsel, filing necessary legal papers, conducting extensive discovery proceedings, meeting with and preparing the testimony of witnesses, trying cases or arranging settlements in the best interest of the School District.
• Advises employees by providing legal advice to principals and administrators on a daily basis and by issuing legal opinions when requested.
Assists in the formation of School District practices and procedures through committee participation in such areas as loss control, affirmative action, school closings, transportation and desegregation.
• Provides representation in appellate court proceedings by filing briefs and arguing these cases before the Commonwealth Court, Superior Court and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as well as Federal Appellate Courts.
• Provides all the insurance needs of the School District by meeting with School District insurance committees.
• Plans, organizes and prioritizes work to meet deadlines.
Civil Rights and Torts Specialty
• Defends the District in federal and state courts in acute personal injury and civil rights litigation and handles appeals actions seeking damages for personal injury and civil rights violations.
• Advices District personnel on risk management, pre-suit investigations and contracts involving release and indemnity issues.
Minimum Requirements
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Ten years of full-time, paid, professional legal experience in a law firm, public sector law department, or corporate law department or related area relevant to the area of specialization.
Certificates/Licenses All Specialties
• Certificate of admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and membership in good standing, with no delinquency in the most recently completed 12-month Continuing Legal Education compliance period; or eligible for admission to or reactivation for the Pennsylvania Bar within six months of employment and are an active member in good standing and currently licensed to practice law in another U.S. jurisdiction.
• Admission to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and Third Circuit Court of Appeals preferred.
• All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.
