Position Overview
The Mechanical Preconstruction Leader is responsible for leading all mechanical estimating and planning activities during the preconstruction phase of commercial and industrial projects. This role ensures accurate budgeting, thorough constructability reviews, and strategic value engineering across process piping, HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate is both technically strong and collaborative, with the ability to guide preconstruction efforts that result in cost-effective, high-quality project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical estimates and budgets for commercial and industrial projects.
- Review mechanical drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and constructability.
- Collaborate with design teams, owners, and trade partners to optimize scope, cost, and schedule.
- Lead value engineering initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Conduct risk assessments and contribute to procurement strategies.
- Maintain preconstruction schedules and ensure timely delivery of mechanical estimates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of process piping, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with BIM and virtual design tools.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
- Design-build or integrated project delivery experience preferred.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Accubid estimating software is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
Education & Experience

OVERVIEW:
- The Team Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Project Managers and Superintendents with the clerical, administrative, and accounting functions of selling and managing jobs. They are also responsible for handling all the phone duties associated with the Claims Department or as assigned. This is an AT WILL position
SUPERVISION AND EXERCISE RECEIVED:
- Reports directly to the Operations Manager and takes direction from the Project Manager
EXAMPLE OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate office schedules, adjustments to schedules, and contact customers regarding arrivals for Project Managers and Project Superintendents
- Work with collections to collect deductibles, progress payments, and final payments when needed
- Coordination with other departments and office staff to complete projects, paperwork, and keep the processes timely for each project
- Project tracking reporting — This includes all schedules, appointments, and reports
- Maintains notes in PSA and job field files as necessary
- Handle office duties such as preparing and printing reports, preparing purchase orders, daily work orders, and daily communication with the PM and Super about ongoing projects
