Value Stream Manager Summary

The Value Stream Manager is a leadership role that will be primarily focused on ensuring a safe work environment for all team members, while maintaining continuous operational execution and production of quality products that are delivered on-time to customers within established cost targets.

The Value Stream Manager will focus on eliminating waste developed in the value stream process, identifying business growth opportunities, understanding the importance of customer value created by the company, maximizing capacity to grow sales and driving lean continuous improvement.

Strategically focused and leading/driving team members in Kaizen events, problem solving activities, owning the value stream.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all value stream related KPIs (SQDCI).
• Co-leads recordable or significant case investigations including root-cause and corrective actions.
• Responsible for ensuring the execution of findings of accident investigations and safety alerts within their value stream.
• Ensure policies and processes are deployed uniformly throughout the value stream.
• Actively leads the daily huddle process and can share information related to value stream as needed.
• Lead problem solving events and follow-up with corrective actions for completion
• Create a standard for value stream process and ensure entire team are properly trained, resourced, supplied, and managed to attain the objectives
• Develop a highly motivated and committed workforce with emphasis on the development of skills needed to accomplish safety, quality, on-time delivery, and product cost goals.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pricing and Value Specialist in the Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Houston, New York or Washington, DC office at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. The Pricing and Value Specialist works closely with the Director of Pricing and Value on pricing, matter management and client management initiatives in furtherance of the goals and objectives of the Firm and the Pricing & Value team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Engages in analysis and strategic planning to facilitate the pricing, client service and client retention process. Makes recommendations, develops pricing structures and communication plans, monitors active clients and budgets and reports on results.
• Supports partners, business development managers and RFP team in the US and international teams with pricing matters by providing analysis, strategy, advice, AFAs and presentations for RFP responses.
• Works with and supports partners, the Director of Pricing and Value to implement and measure client and matter management programs.
• Assists with scoping, budgeting and monitoring of matters, after-action review and advice. Develops and provides client and matter monitoring and other reporting.
• Supports client growth through client account management, including finalizing client agreements, working with Pricing & Value to advise on pricing and service models, identifying challenges impacting billing/collections and coordinating client evaluation and feedback.
• Works with the Director of Pricing and Value to assist in reaching their outside counsel management goals and objectives.
• Participates in the management, maintenance and development of Iridium and any successive productivity, matter planning and profitability software. Conducts training of partners and staff on the use of Iridium and provides follow-up user support.
• Takes initiative to develop custom reporting solutions to address unique needs of partners, clients and other Firm staff.
• Utilizes client, industry and peer survey data to make recommendations and engage in the Firm’s annual rate setting project.
• Participates in special projects and initiatives, as defined by the Director of Pricing and Value. Identifies and suggests improvements to existing processes and implements approved changes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing or other business-related field from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a business-related field is required. Legal project management experience is preferred. Experience in a legal or professional services organization is preferred. Budget management experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and advanced knowledge of Excel are required. Knowledge of coding, Tableau and Power BI or similar experience is helpful. SQL is a plus, but not required.
• In-depth and broad understanding of/experience supporting applications and databases.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads.
• Ability to problem-solve and make recommendations and decisions.

This is a hybrid role and will require on-site presence 3 days per week. The salary ranges for this position vary depending on the geographic location and other factors such as experience, internal equity, market data, and job-related considerations. The range for this position is from $80,000 - $110,000, with offers contingent upon the various factors. Staff Actuary – Value Based Care

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Performance and maintenance of the monthly incurred but not reported (IBNR) healthcare claims process for a large risk based multi-specialty value-based care organization. Serve as a subject matter expert on IBNR estimates and payor data files. Investigate and analyze utilization and medical cost data in support of financial close, budget, and forecasting processes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create the monthly claim triangles, populate the IBNR models, and produce the IBNR estimates, working closely with accounting, finance, and operational leaders. Communicate results and supporting information to internal audiences including Finance, Accounting, and Value Based Care executives and team members. Maintain the IBNR models. Research issues and trends and keep leaders informed of findings. Update related monthly reports. Act as key contributor and subject matter expert during budget and forecast cycles. Interact with payor contacts and third-party actuaries as appropriate. (70%)
• Support the annual financial statement audit. Prepare lookback analyses and other information as requested by the auditor. Meet with the auditor as needed to answer questions. (5%)
• Perform medical expense projections and evaluate against payor contracts. (10%)
• Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by management. Independently surface insights and recommendations that help improve the accuracy of IBNR models and/or value-based care operations. (15%)

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT SCOPE

• Role is viewed as a primary subject matter expert on all matters related to IBNR and will be looked to for advice, guidance, and mentorship.
• Manage entire IBNR process, on a monthly basis, to completion, meeting predetermined timelines.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $107K-$161K, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
