Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 is responsible for performing all assigned laboratory testing and reporting for the testing area. This position requires teamwork to achieve common goals and meet deadlines to provide quality care to clients and patients. Demonstrates proficiency in identifying and resolving process issues that affect the laboratory's ability to perform laboratory testing. Responsibilities:

•Keeps work area neat, clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times. Disinfect area at the beginning and end of each shift.
•Accepts no inappropriate specimens. Notifies the appropriate person of specimens that must be drawn or collected again and documents the notification.

•Required to obtain and document 12 hours of laboratory continuing education per year. Required to prepare and present a minimum of 15 minutes of continuing education within the department.
•Accepts and/or volunteers for method evaluations and new procedure development or other special projects and completes them within an agreed-upon time frame. Participates in procedure implementation and training of new staff and students.
•Required to perform the duties of the tech-in-charge for specified periods. Oversees operations according to departmental guidelines. Understands when to defer issues to appropriate personnel, for example, a supervisor or director, and does so.
•Reviews lab results as required and takes appropriate action before verification and release. Recognizes and calls critical results within defined time frames. Reviews paper-generated results and transcribes them accurately into the Lab Information System.

About the position:
The Quality Lab Sensory Analyst position at Givaudan involves evaluating flavoring products and incoming ingredients through sensory evaluations and basic physical-chemical. Under general supervision, the analyst will identify and document non-conforming products, applying simple corrections as necessary. The role requires performing basic equipment calibrations and supporting various laboratory functions as directed. The analyst will enter test results into the computer system, SAP, leading to either approval or rejection of products based on the evaluations conducted. In addition to the core responsibilities, the analyst will support miscellaneous lab functions, which may include pre-shipment sample processing, filing retain samples, maintaining lab supplies, and disposing of liquid hazardous waste.


The role also involves identifying out-of-specification results and applying simple corrections, as well as documenting and communicating non-conformances to higher-level quality personnel and operations as needed. The analyst will analyze and collect data for investigations and must work in accordance with all relevant requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), American Institute of Baking (AIB), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and internal safety guidelines. Participation in site training sessions and improvement projects related to quality, food safety, safety, problem-solving, lean manufacturing, and 5S is also expected. The position requires excellent attendance, flexibility, enthusiasm, and a positive approach to teamwork.



Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of progressive experience in account management within acute care facilities or similar role
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in lab-focused product sales
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Salesforce CRM
  • Frequent travel within the geographic territory as business needs require
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Attend industry trade shows as needed

Compensation and Benefits:

The Company reasonably expects to pay a base draw in the range of $80,000–$175,000 annually. This base draw range excludes commissions and other incentive compensation and reflects differences in experience level, existing customer relationships, and sales performance expectations within the assigned territory. The draw is non-recoverable during the initial training period. After training, the draw may be reconciled against future earned commissions in accordance with the Company’s Sales Incentive Plan.


This range represents the company’s good-faith estimate of the base draw compensation that may be offered at the time of hire and is based on factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, training, licensure or certifications, internal equity, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


This position is commission-based and is eligible to participate in the company’s Sales Incentive Plan, with uncapped commission potential. Commissions are earned based on individual performance and sales results and are paid in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.


Commissions are earned upon satisfaction of the applicable earning criteria as defined in the company’s Sales Incentive Plan and, once earned, will be paid in accordance with applicable state law. Participation in any bonus, commission, incentive, or benefit program—including eligibility, amount, timing, and terms—remains subject to company discretion and may be modified or discontinued prospectively, consistent with applicable law.
