Position Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the ASU Nurse Manager, the Pre-Admission Nurse performs:

* Assessment with the patient prior to admission via a phone interview or in person
* Collects the patients' medical history from previous medical records

* Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups.

Job summary: Provides indirect/direct patient care in the Women's Health setting. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. The ESOL Instructor must maintain appropriate student records, conduct goal setting activities, facilitate activities to achieve students' goals, and document student outcomes. The ESOL Instructor is expected to provide academic advising to students and assist students with transitioning to next steps in their academic and/or career experience.


The contract period is through June 30, 2026, with possible renewal, September 1, 2026, thru June 30, 2027.


EXAMPLES OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Teach one evening class of 6 hrs to WEP students.
  • Select and develop appropriate materials for class use.
  • Create lesson plans and align curriculum with Curriculum Framework for ESOL.
  • Maintain appropriate student records (e.g. attendance, goals, outcomes, assessments, contact notes, exit information).
  • Conduct goal setting activities, facilitate activities designed to achieve students' goals, and document student outcomes.
  • Provide academic advising to adult learners in morning and evening classes related to student progress, goals, and referrals to community resources.
  • Assist students with transitioning to next steps in their job training and post secondary school transitions.

In collaboration with the patient, the patientโ€™s family, and other members of the health care team, the Float Pool Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the various nursing departments. You serve as a key position of the assigned team and will hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes.

What you will do in this role, based on your float area:

- You will maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients.

- You will have the ability to respond to Code Blue within the facility and initiate protocol, special procedures and cardiac monitoring.

Prelicensure Clinical Instructors (Hourly) are subject matter experts who teach and mentor students when engaged in experiential clinical course work; in a remote/onsite environment.
