Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and
education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level
progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher
grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level.
Promotions are at the discretion of the agency.
Officers are eligible to select from an array of federal employment benefits that include health, dental
and other insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift

Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience:A minimum of three (3) years full-time general work experience that demonstrates the
ability to meet and deal with people and the ability to learn and be able to apply a body of facts; OR
Education Substitution:A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four (4)-year course of
study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR
Combination of Experience and Education:A combination of successfully completed college
education AND general work experience. This will be calculated using your resume and official or
unofficial college transcripts submitted with your application.
You qualify for the GS-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized full-time work experience equivalent to at least
the next lower grade level that includes:
- Performing physical inspections of people, documents or goods for criminal activity, fraud,
and/or illegal operations.
- Utilizing observational techniques, evaluating facts, and reviewing documentation while
applying Federal, State, or local laws and regulations.
- Making determinations in compliance with laws and regulations that may lead to arrests, seizure
of property, fines, and/or penalties based on findings.
OR for the GS-7 grade level:
Education Substitution:A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement based on (1) class
standing, (2) grade-point average (3.0 or higher), or (3) honor society membership; OR one (1) full year
of graduate-level education. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities

Combination of Experience and Education:A combination of specialized work experience equivalent to
the next lower grade level AND graduate level education from an accredited college or university. This

- Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
- Enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to and from the United States.
- Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security.
- Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for the purposes of gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine the appropriate course of action.
The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and decisions with respect to the application of the regulations, instructions, and procedures for importing and exporting merchandise to and from the United States; or enforcement and administration of laws relating to the right of persons to enter, reside in or depart from the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree, or two or more years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR

Job Summary of the Ultrasound MFM TechnologistA Sonographer is a diagnostic ultrasound professional who is qualified by professional credentialing, academic, and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice of the diagnostic medical sonographer includes those procedures, acts, and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience. This person must demonstrate competency and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound.
Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities of the Ultrasound MFM Technologist- Assess patient ability to tolerate procedures and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and positioning.
- Implement a procedure plan that falls within established protocols.
- Recognize sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow; adjust scanning technique to optimize image quality and spectral waveform characteristics; analyze sonography findings throughout the course of the examination so that a comprehensive exam is completed and sufficient data is provided to the physician
- Perform measurements and calculations according to practice protocol
- Minimize patient exposure to acoustic energy without compromising examination quality and/or completeness.
- Establish that the examination, as performed, complies with applicable protocols and guidelines.
- Document clearly, concisely, and completely as well as documenting diagnostic and patient data in the appropriate record, according to established policy and procedure.
Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8a-5p), Friday (8a-12p)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree or higher in related technological field.
- Graduate of an educational program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or minimum one year obstetrics (OB) experience.
- Preferred: One year of previous experience as an MFM Sonographer.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Credentials with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Current certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registered in OB within one year of hire.
- RDMS in Fetal Echocardiography (FE) must be obtained within two years of hire. If results are not available at two year mark due to ARDMS results waiting period, employee will be allowed to work until results become available.
- Fetal Nuchal Translucency must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- Nasal Bone Certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date

- You will consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric
- You will demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

- You will maintain thorough knowledge of the operating parameters of the scanner
- You will operate the complex measurement and Doppler programs

St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, located at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, is recognized by the State of Texas as a Level IV Maternal Facility. This means it provides the highest level of care for pregnant and postpartum patients, especially those with serious or complex medical, surgical, or pregnancy-related conditions, including those at high risk for maternal morbidity or mortality. The center includes a 95+ bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 30+ private rooms, 10+ rooms for very small babies, and 10+ beds for babies needing neurological care. It also has 35+ labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, including Central Texas’ first low-intervention birthing suites with tubs. There are 95+ postpartum beds, 20+ antepartum beds, and Cesarean section surgical suites. The facility offers 24/7 neonatology coverage, OB/GYN hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, lactation consultants, and a midwifery program. It is part of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network and TexasAIM, and it also provides a high-risk pregnancy navigation and support program.
St. David's Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the first Level 4 Epilepsy Center in Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpatient unit, and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for patients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. It also includes certified child-life specialists who help kids feel more comfortable during their hospital stay. St. David’s Children’s Hospital offers many pediatric services, such as pediatric surgery, pediatric radiology (including imaging and interventional procedures), and pediatric anesthesia for surgical support. Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Surgical Technician, you will assist in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite, as well as participating in the care and cleaning of operating room equipment. You will perform in a sterile field and assist the surgeon by providing instrumentation appropriate for the task. You will provide care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery.
- You will perform patient care within the scope of training of the operating room technician and under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN)
- You will prepare patients, equipment, and operating rooms for each procedure/surgery

- You will perform intra-operative management of assigned procedures and anticipate needs of the surgeon
- You will assist the circulating nurse in maintaining correct instrument counts

Experience
- Previous work experience as a Surgical Technician with demonstrated competency in multiple inpatient surgical specialties - required
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or hospital-conducted on-the-job training with proof of program content and completion
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy
- Surgical Technologist that graduate after September 1, 2009 must hold and maintain a current certification as a Surgical Technologist within 180 days from the date of graduation. This means it provides the highest level of care for pregnant and postpartum patients, especially those with serious or complex medical, surgical, or pregnancy-related conditions, including those at high risk for maternal morbidity or mortality. The center includes a 95+ bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 30+ private rooms, 10+ rooms for very small babies, and 10+ beds for babies needing neurological care. It also has 35+ labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, including Central Texas’ first low-intervention birthing suites with tubs. There are 95+ postpartum beds, 20+ antepartum beds, and Cesarean section surgical suites. The facility offers 24/7 neonatology coverage, OB/GYN hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, lactation consultants, and a midwifery program. St. David's Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the first Level 4 Epilepsy Center in Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpatient unit, and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for patients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. It also includes certified child-life specialists who help kids feel more comfortable during their hospital stay. St. David’s Children’s Hospital offers many pediatric services, such as pediatric surgery, pediatric radiology (including imaging and interventional procedures), and pediatric anesthesia for surgical support. Job Summary and QualificationsAs a CT Technologist (CT Tech) you will be responsible for performing CT exams in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry or Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures. The CT Technologist demonstrates knowledges of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, specialized techniques and adheres to all Corporate Radiation Right policies.
- You will consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age groups.
- You will follow established scanning and viewing protocols.
- You will operate CT scanner (any models) and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
- You will complete quality scans in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet OP customer standards.
- You will demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute and challenging patients; possess skills to modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
- You will demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and produce studies that optimally identify related anatomy.

Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY
The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for all aspects of diagnostic and interventional procedures performed in the Specials Suite. Performs technical duties utilizing various types of equipment to image selected vascular structures or therapeutic intervention. Principles of positioning, radiographic sciences, and radiation protection are exercised with specialized techniques. Assists and supports the physicians with invasive procedures. Has responsibility for patient charge entry, availability of procedure supplies and inventory management. Maintains professional judgment and conduct that is complimentary of the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David’s Healthcare Values.

*Takescall on a rotating basis. Arrives at SAH within 30 minutes of receipt of call.
*Attends staff meetings. When absent, is responsible for obtaining information from meetings.
*Performs other duties/task as requested.

*Soliciting patient cooperation by explaining procedure to patients and family in terms they understand attempts to clarify any misconceptions; communicates with patient during the exam. Education is documented.

*Communicates with Nurse and Charge Technologist/s to ensure department runs efficiently.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Graduate of an American Medical Association- approved program in Radiologic Technology. Associates degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 6-12 months related experience. Prefer experience in angiography and therapeutic intervention lab.
LICENSED/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
MRT Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certificate or Temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist Certificate
Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists American Registry or Radiologic Technology (ARRT, RTR)
ARRT Vascular-Interventional and/or Cardiac Interventional Radiology- preferred
