We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join a growing structural steel fabrication operation supporting commercial and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for ensuring all weldments and related components meet applicable codes, project specifications, and internal quality standards. The CWI will perform inspections and nondestructive testing, identify non-conformities, document findings, and work closely with production and quality leadership to maintain compliance. This position requires strong technical knowledge of structural steel fabrication, the ability to interpret blueprints and welding procedures, and a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform visual inspections of structural steel welds and components
• Conduct and document NDT methods (UT, MT – Level II preferred)

Job Description:

The Construction Quality Engineer (CQE) is responsible for implementation of the Quality

Plan and oversight of all quality issues, ensuring that all aspects of the buildings meet the

required contractual, technical, quality and regulatory standards focusing on quality

assurance and control throughout the construction process. He/She for TRISO-X

(buildings) must ensure compliance with the Construction Quality Management Plan

(CQMP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), released-for-construction (RFC) drawings and

applicable standards. This position must operate independently from production and

supervision teams to maintain objectivity and integrity in quality program processes.

Job Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/BA Degree in civil engineering, construction management, nuclear engineering or similar industry or Current certification in Quality Management from the
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) or the American Society of Civil Engineers or AWS CWI or ANSI Level II Mechanical Certifications equivalent experience or education is preferable.
• The skills required for this role are typically demonstrated by 5 years of relevant experience for a Level III, 10 years for a Level IV, and 15 years for a Level V.
• Demonstrated relevant experience in full-time Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control management and with design-build contracts.
• Certification and/or documented training in construction quality assurance and quality control.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 principles in quality systems and quality program implementation.
• Strong understanding of construction processes including nonconformance, inspection techniques, and tooling.
• Advanced knowledge or experience in Non-destructive engineering a plus

Conducts various quality control activies and assists with the application and monitoring of established inspection procedures and methods. Inspect and evaluate received/installed equipment and materials to ensure the highest level of quality for final products. Responsible for rejecting items that do not meet specifications and/or EAS established quality standards. Be familiar with various types of testing equipment and how to interpret results.

QA responsibilities:

• Review and understand job specifications for Quality related scopes
• Review and understand job drawings (flow diagrams, boundaries, etc…)
• Review and understand job submittals
• Implement QC Plan for specific project

QC responsibilities:

• Perform receiving inspections of material and equipment
• Verify component verification of major equipment per approved submittal
• Witness EAS welding quality assurance procedure is being implemented including current weld documentation (IE: WPS, PQR, Weld Log, Weld Travelers, Weld Stamps)
• Overseeing the installation of all mechanical scopes including sub-contract work
• Verify all mechanical testing, flushing and cleaning is executed per contract documents
• Implement non-conformance and corrective actions program
• Maintain turn over documentation throughout project in hard and digital formats

Commissioning responsibilities (when applicable):

• Witness Factory Acceptance Testing on required Mechanical equipment
• Coordinate Pipe flushing, cleaning disinfecting (sometimes with 3rd party vendor)
• Coordinate Mechanical Start-up activities with supplying vendors and or qualified technicians
• Coordinate Commissioning activities with (3rd party) Cx group, EAS support, client and other sub-contractors

EDUCATION:

• A minimum of a two (2) year business, construction management or mechanical engineering degree
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) qualification is desirable
• Hands-on or on-the-job training is available when necessary as well as continued education training.

Role Summary

The Corporate QA/QC Manager is the single corporate authority for quality assurance and quality control across Hermanson’s fabrication and field installation activities. The role owns and governs QA/QC systems supporting piping fabrication, structural steel, skids, sheet metal, plumbing, and general mechanical installation, with an initial and primary emphasis on piping and fabrication shop operations.

Periodic travel to fabrication shops and active projects (regional and national as needed)

This role establishes durable, auditable quality systems that project teams inherit and execute. It is a corporate leadership position, not a project inspection role.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Corporate QA/QC Ownership

• Serve as the company-wide authority for QA/QC, welding, and fabrication quality
• Establish and enforce a unified QA/QC framework across all mechanical trades
• Maintain sole interpretation authority for applicable codes, standards, and company requirements
• Exercise stop-work authority for quality or compliance issues

2. Fabrication & Piping Focus (Initial Priority)

• Own and lead QA/QC system implementation and certification compliance for fabrication shops, with an initial emphasis on piping, skids, and structural steel.
• Ensure shop practices, welding, inspection, and documentation align with approved procedures
• Establish traceability, inspection points, nonconformance, and corrective action processes
• Prepare fabrication operations for audits and owner/EPC review
• Stabilize and integrate AWS, AISC, and ASME programs into one coherent system

3. Certification & Code Compliance Leadership

• Own and maintain quality programs supporting:
• AWS welding requirements
• AISC (STD) structural steel certification
• ASME (B31.1 power piping with Section IX welding only)
• Lead certification applications, audits, surveillance, and corrective actions
• Act as primary interface with auditors, Authorized Inspectors (AI), owners, and EPCs
• Ensure certification scope remains disciplined and free of unnecessary expansion

4. Welding Program Management

• Own the corporate welding program including:
• WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and continuity
• Alignment between AWS and ASME Section IX requirements
• Ensure welding practices in the shop and field conform to approved procedures
• Determine appropriate use of third-party CWIs, NDT, and specialty inspection services

5. Multi-Trade QA/QC Standards (Phased Expansion)

• Establish corporate QA/QC standards for:
• Sheet metal fabrication and installation
• Plumbing systems
• General mechanical installation work
• Define inspection points, documentation expectations, and acceptance criteria by trade
• Phase implementation to avoid overloading projects while improving consistency
• Audit projects periodically for compliance with corporate standards

6. Training, Audits & Continuous Improvement

• Train shop personnel, project managers, superintendents, and foremen on quality requirements
• Implement nonconformance reporting, corrective action, and root cause processes
• Conduct internal audits and readiness reviews prior to external audits
• Drive continuous improvement across fabrication and field installation

7. Cross-Functional & Strategic Support

• Support estimating, procurement, and operations with code-compliant execution strategies
• Participate in risk reviews where quality, fabrication approach, or certification impacts scope
• Advise executive leadership on quality risk, capability gaps, and future certification needs

Qualifications (Required)

• 10+ years experience in fabrication, welding, piping, or mechanical construction quality
• Demonstrated experience leading QA/QC programs at a corporate or multi-project level
• Proven ownership of audits and corrective actions (AISC and/or ASME preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of piping, structural steel, and mechanical installation practices
• Ability to operate effectively with executives, shop leadership, and field teams

Certifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI): Preferred
• If not held, must be able and willing to obtain within 12 months (company supported)
• Experience with ASME or AISC audits is strongly preferred

We are looking for 3rd shift availability. Shift hours are Friday through Sunday 5am to 5pm.

•    Coordinate between Veritas Steel Production and DOT Inspectors to ensure DOT witnessing of production operations and QC hold points are being completed.

QA/QC Welding Inspector

The QA/QC Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring all welding activities associated with steel storage tank fabrication and field construction comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and quality requirements. The individual shall be proficient in ASME Section IX welding qualifications and API 650 requirements for welded steel storage tanks. Work includes shop and field inspection, documentation control, coordination of NDE activities, and support of quality management systems.

Pay: DOQ

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Review, Verify, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) in accordance with ASME Section IX.
• Inspect welding activities for compliance with API 650 requirements, including joint details, materials, fit-up, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform visual inspection of welds before, during and after welding operations.
• Coordinate and witness non-destructive examination (RT, UT, MT, PT, VT) and review inspection and test reports.
• Verify proper identification, handling, and traceability of base materials, filler metals, and welding consumables.
• Monitor preheat, interpass temperature, welding parameters, and PWHT requirements where applicable.
• Identify nonconforming work, issue NCRs, and assist with corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation including weld maps, inspection reports, welder continuity logs, and turnover packages.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in QA/QC welding inspection for industrial fabrication or field construction.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.
• Demonstrated experience with ASME Section IX welding qualifications and documentation.
• Proven experience inspecting API 650 welded steel storage tanks (shop and/or field erected).
