RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week available
/n• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
/n• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
/n• Floating required to sister ICCU unit as needed
/n• 13-week contract assignments available
/n• Must have 2 years of experience minimum
/n• Accepts first-time travelers
/n• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, plus IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation experience
/n• Must have strong drip experience and experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips
/n• Required skills include PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin protocols, chest tube management, tracheostomy management, and isolation precautions
/n• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
/n• Hospital orientation required during first week with daily class attendance
/n• Epic and Pyxis systems used
/n• Scrubs: Navy, white, or combination of both
/n• Work with bedside telemetry monitors, A-lines, BIPAP, chest tubes, and trachs (no vents on unit)
/n• Handle post rapid response patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds, and various post-op patients
/n• Administer single pressor drips per patient (Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo)
/n• Serve patients from adolescent through geriatric age groups
