Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Minimum Requirements

General Duties:

General duties include developing syllabi, lecturing, writing assignments, writing and grading exams, supervising teaching assistants, holding office hours, and maintaining a course website. Other duties may be assigned by the Chair as necessary.

TSP (Teacher Special Program) appointments teach our Summer Preparation Bootcamp for the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Statistics program. This bootcamp is a short courses on one or more of the topic areas listed. Most TSP courses are taught in a 'bootcamp' 3-week format in late July and early August .

Numerical Control Programmer

6+ Months Contract

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, verify, and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), tooling geometry, and setup documentation for multi-axis CNC machines (primarily 5-axis).

• Interpret engineering drawings, planning documentation, and manufacturing requirements to develop robust NC programs for aluminum and hard-metal parts.

• Develop multiple setups and operations for complex part geometries, ensuring fixturing, tooling, and machine selection support producibility and tolerances.

• Produce clear setup sheets and operator instructions that enable consistent and safe machine operation.

• Use simulation/verification tools (e.g., Vericut) to validate programs and eliminate collisions or gouges prior to shop-floor execution.

• Troubleshoot and iterate programs based on first-article inspections, in-process feedback, and shop-floor testing.

• Coordinate with planning, manufacturing engineering, tooling design, and machine operators to optimize cycle times, reduce scrap, and address manufacturability concerns.

• For Level 4: Lead the design of custom fixtures and complex tooling arrangements and define machining strategies across multiple operations and machines.

• Maintain program documentation, revisions, and configuration control per company/contract requirements.

• Work under minimal direction.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of NC programming experience for production machining or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrated experience programming 5-axis CNC machines for aerospace parts (aluminum and hard metals).

• Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.

• Proficient in CATIA V5 NC programming.

Position Overview

A manufacturing organization is seeking a Level III Machinist to produce precision components and tooling using a variety of manual and CNC machining equipment. This role involves interpreting complex blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions to manufacture medium- to high-complexity parts while maintaining strict dimensional tolerances and quality standards. The Machinist may also support prototype development and collaborate with engineering teams on new product and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers in accordance with detailed blueprints, job routings, and work instructions.
• Review and retrieve job-related documentation, including part drawings, tooling lists, and manufacturing instructions.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding methods for a variety of materials and machining operations.

The Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital is located on our 5th floor and accommodates 34 residents. Our facility serves a diverse range of patients, spanning from middle-aged adults to geriatric residents. We maintain a balance between long-term care and subacute care, striving for a ratio of 14 short-stay patients to 20 long-term residents. Our short-stay patients typically stay with us for 1 to 6 weeks on average, receiving specialized care for conditions such as sepsis, post-orthopedic surgery recovery, and wound care. For our subacute population, we provide a spectrum of skilled nursing and therapy services, including wound care with advanced techniques like wound vacuums, antibiotic therapy, and comprehensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Our long-term residents exhibit a wide range of needs, from those requiring minimal assistance with daily activities to others who rely completely on our care and support.
