Position Overview

The Construction Project Manager will support the planning, execution, and delivery of federal construction and civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for a candidate with 2-4 years of professional experience who is eager to grow, learn federal contracting processes, and take on increasing responsibility. You will work closely with company leadership, subcontractors, and government stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support day‑to‑day project management activities for federal construction and infrastructure projects under NAICS 237.
  • Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, work plans, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely execution of project tasks.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, progress reports, and compliance records.
  • Monitor project performance metrics and support corrective actions when needed.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure adherence to federal contracting requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Build strong working relationships with government clients and project partners.
  • Assist with proposal development, cost estimates, and technical inputs for new opportunities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, or related.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in project coordination, construction management, engineering, or federal contracting.
  • Familiarity with the NAICS 237 sector (civil works, heavy construction, infrastructure) is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency within the full Microsoft office suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.


Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience supporting federal government projects (USACE, NAVFAC, DHS, DOT, etc.).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS requirements.
  • Exposure to construction safety standards (OSHA, EM 385‑1‑1).
  • Basic understanding of cost control, scheduling, or contract administration
