Service Manager – Material Handling Equipment in Carson, CA
We’re partnering with a fast-growing, customer-first material handling organization in Southern California that is looking to bring on a Service Manager to lead and scale their service operations.
This is a right-hand-to-ownership role with full visibility across the business. You won’t just manage technicians you’ll help drive performance, shape strategy, and build a best-in-class service organization.
What You’ll Own:
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of field service technicians
• Drive service performance across response time, first-time fix, and customer satisfaction
• Manage scheduling, dispatch, and overall field operations
• Partner directly with ownership on operational strategy and growth initiatives
• Build scalable processes across service, parts, and customer support
• Monitor KPIs, productivity, and profitability of the service department
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new technicians
• Ensure a strong safety culture and operational excellence across the team
What We’re Looking For:
• 5+ years of leadership experience within material handling, heavy equipment, or a related industry
• Strong understanding of field service operations (dispatch, service metrics, technician management)
• Experience working with forklifts, MHE, or industrial equipment is highly preferred
• Proven ability to lead from the front and build high-performing teams
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with ownership
