· Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.

Communication:

FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy and Direction:
· Know and understand the campus strategic directions.
· Define, develop and implement a customer/workcell strategy that contributes to the campus strategic directions.
· Develop an understanding of the Functional business strategies as they pertain to the workcell/customer.
· Provide regular updates to the Function Manager, Business Unit Manager, and Assistant Operations Manager on the execution of the strategy.
· Identify resource requirements that meet the needs of the workcell and the customer/product (i.e. machines, lines, visuals).
· Communicate resource requirements to Function Managers.

Cost Management:
· Develop the monthly business unit forecast with the Business Unit Manager.
· Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
· Utilize tools to monitor department cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
· Provide feedback to Business Unit Manager and Assistant Operations Manager on costs and cost trends.

Forecast Development and Accuracy:
· Prepare timely forecasts for the workcell.
· Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
· Complete variance of actual results versus the forecast on time and communicate results to Business Unit Manger, Assistant Operations Manager, Operations Manager and Workcell Team.

TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

· Train the workcell teams on the validity of management by metrics and with the team monitor all workcell metrics.
· Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
· Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
· Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes.

  • Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).

  • Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.

  • Provide feedback to peers (BUMs, WCMs, Functional Managers (FMs) on cost and cost trends.

  • Prepare timely forecasts for the department.

  • Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.


TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).

  • Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.

  • Assess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilized by the Workcells.

  • Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.

  • Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.

  • Lead by example.

  • Rehabilitate troubled Workcells or to help during product launch. Foster a “back to basics” mentality during these times.

  • Establish new measurement systems if/where possible.

  • Exchange knowledge and information with other Jabil facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.

  • Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality).

  • Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately.

  • Evaluate customer test strategies and recommend appropriate test solutions to support customer requests.

  • Drive the development of specialized test equipment and software.

  • Manage the procurement of test equipment.

  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.

  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years work-related experience in a HW test or electrical engineering role with a minimum of 5 years management experience required.

  • Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.

  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

  • Electronics manufacturing and HW testing background highly desired

  • Ability to understand schematics

  • Contribute to development of DOE's and data gathering to resolve ongoing failure trends

  • Ability to understand test scripts and make modifications as needed,

  • Ability to solve random failures by interrogation of test logs/ software / physical measurement / visual identification, define implement and perform tester PM 

  • Project management and budgeting experience

Position Overview: Coordinate information for development of new styles from concept to production via interaction with internal and external cross functional partners and across all International channels.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Design to drive trends/concepts to executable samples by working with factories
  • Work with Design to select fabrics and trims to meet Design aesthetics, price points, and quality needs
  • Ensure compliance to T&A calendar and major milestones by working with cross-functional team; elevate issues to Manager/Director as needed
  • Gather data and report development ratios to agreed to levels while meeting roadmap needs
  • Adhere to sourcing strategy by partnering with Production Director before placing sample request in overseas factories
  • Allocate samples and source raw materials from appropriate factories and mills
  • Actively participate in key milestone meetings with Design, Production, and Merchants
  • Work on alternative solutions so garments meet cost requirements from initial thru final costing; review options with Manager/Director
  • Interface with cross functional team members to ensure approval deadlines are met
  • Ensure T&A calendar and Seasonal Milestones are being met and elevate to supervisor as needed, encompassing: PLM deadline, merchant call dates, merchant PO issuance, pattern and graphic art send dates
  • Procure, review and assess new cost quotes, analyze history and elevate costing challenges to supervisor for costing options/ negotiations
  • Communicate daily with overseas vendors regarding style development, production and delivery information
  • Review outstanding issues on Production Status, take action accordingly and elevate to Supervisor as needed
  • Work with Buyers/ Planners on garment cost, buys, production planning, liabilities and delivery
  • Sample tracking for both milestones and bulk making sure vendors adhere to sample due dates to support milestone meetings as well as bulk production timelines.
  • Help to develop and improve tracking and record keeping systems



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or equivalent
  • 2-3+ years related experience
  • Ability to act as liaison between many departments and possess excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Must be detail oriented, computer literate, and able to multitask as well as have a high sense of urgency
