Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor / Manager, Ambulatory Pharmacy, and within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, the Ambulatory Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care in a community practice setting. Primary, essential job functions involve ensuring rational drug therapy through a focus on prescription filling and distribution. Must be willing and able to support the clinical pharmacy and other organizational activities as required. A commitment to patient safety, customer satisfaction, efficient and effective use of resources, teamwork, innovation, and performance improvement is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Checks for safety, accuracy, appropriateness and completeness with respect to drug, dose, route, frequency with consideration given to patient-specific data including laboratory values, age, gender, height, weight and BSA.
- Prepares controlled substances to be dispensed, completing the appropriate documentation while maintaining an accurate perpetual inventory.
- Performs weekly inventory and reconciliation of controlled substances. Notifies Manager, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services or Senior Director of Pharmacy of any unexplained discrepancies.
- Performs daily oversight of all Pharmacy Technician activities; checks/reviews all Pharmacy Technician work according to regulatory requirements.
- Dispenses medication to ambulatory patients with appropriate medication counseling.
- Educates/trains patients to administer and monitor therapy as required.
- Effectively interacts with prescribers concerning drug order clarification or drug therapy modification
- Ability to perform without direct professional supervision and to oversee the work of Technicians and students.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited college/university with B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree is required.
- Licensure: Must have a current license in good standing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy or be eligible for licensure in MA. In lieu of an active MA license, candidates must attain MA licensure prior to working 1000 hours at the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). Failure to attain MA licensure within this time period will result in the discontinuation of employment at CHA.

Position Overview

The CHA Laboratory provides everything from routine blood and urine tests to special tissue evaluation. Through the utilization of applied theories, principles, and practices of clinical laboratory technology, the Cytotechnologist performs and reports tests in a manner to promote the efficient operation of the laboratory and provide effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of quality control protocol.
- Performs all quality control tests as per department guidelines adhering to frequency requirements and standards for quality control performance.
- Reports all outlier quality control results to the supervisor (or designee) and records the data and corrective action according to department protocol.
- Correctly performs all required daily and monthly instrument procedures according to department specific schedules and protocols.

The MRI Technologist performs a wide range of routine and emergent MR procedures. The highly qualified candidate for this role must be capable of working independently and unsupervised in a fast paced setting, as well as able to make advanced clinical imaging decisions They must possess a wide range of technical knowledge, as well as good communication skills in order to meet our standards of service excellence.
This is a network position and may require assignments at multiple locations. This position reports to MR Network Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Competently perform a variety of MRI exams in accordance with accepted standards of practice, including administering contrast agents.
- Manage department workflow to ensure safe and timely care of all patients.
- Adhere to TJC, ACR and departmental standards.
- Provide patients with reassurance to assure patient cooperation required for quality exams.
- Provide complete documentation for patient care.
- Maintain appropriate CEUs for continued registry by ARRT.
- Interact professionally with a diverse stream of patients, family, and other staff at all times.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Associates or Bachelorβs degree in Radiological technology or Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Must be a registered MRI technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in MR imaging modality preferred. Must be certified in MR within one year of employment if not currently certified.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Two to five years of broad technical experience in MR preferred.

CHA Perioperative ServicesΒ consists of Orthopedics, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Plastics, Podiatry, Vascular and Endoscopy and many other services. Cambridge Health Alliance's experienced Surgery team has performed thousands of procedures at some of Boston's finest teaching hospitals. Today, we have recruited highly-regarded surgeons and are able to provide state-of-the-art care in our operating rooms. The department has grown significantly adding skilled surgeons who bring specialized care to our communities. Our most recent initiatives includes a minimally invasive surgery program, hepatobiliary and pancreatic program, and multidisciplinary breast center. All of our Surgeons handle routine cases as well as more complex procedures. Whenever possible, we use minimally invasive techniques to reduce the discomfort and recovery time of surgery. Many procedures can now be done on an outpatient basis with patients going home the same day. These procedures including Endoscopy are performed at Cambridge and Everett hospital and outpatient Endoscopy is performed at our Somerville Campus.Β
Job Duties/Responsibilities:Β
The main purpose of theΒ Operating Room NurseΒ is to provide quality patient care according to Cambridge Health Alliance and the Association of peri-operative Registered Nurses standards of nursing practice. The role of the operating room nurse is to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care in a professional manner. The Operating Room nurse will demonstrate the ability to provide care in the perioperative setting to include both the functions of the scrub and circulator. The Operating Room nurse knows and understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of nursing service. Clinical nursing leadership at Cambridge Health Alliance is manifested by personal commitment, accountability, and initiative in clinical practice. Patients are our priority. It is the clinical nurse who assists patients to reach their health care goals. RN graduate of an accredited nursing school.Β
Qualifications/Experience:Β
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing CurrentΒ
Massachusetts RN License in good standing.Β
American Heart Association BLS certification required.Β
Successful completion of Periop 101 during CHA orientation CNOR preferred.Β
Minimum 2 years current Operating Room (OR) nursing experience; circulating and scrub roles required.Β
On call obligations required for nights, weekends and holidays
Newly hired experienced RNs interested in committing to a minimum of two years of employment at Cambridge Health Alliance, may be eligible to receive a retention bonus of $10,000. Part-time employees may be eligible for a prorated retention bonus.

Cambridge Health Alliance is expanding services to address substance use disorders for its patients and communities. We are opening a low barrier and harm reduction clinic at The Cambridge Hospital to provide treatment for patients who need immediate attention and who could benefit from additional clinical services. This program will be multidisciplinary and interdepartmental, and collaborate with other departments throughout Cambridge Health Alliance and with our community partners in order to meet the needs of our patients with substance use disorders.
Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing patient care in accordance with established Nursing Standards of Care. The RN demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nursing care and directly reports to a designated nurse manager and/or clinical manager / off shift manager.
Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- Current or Conditional MA RN LicensureΒ
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) for Healthcare Providers BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is requiredΒ
- Interest or experience in mental health, acute services, and/or substance use disorders preferred
- Portuguese, Spanish, or Haitian Creole-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply
