Summary:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The MRI Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The incumbent must be able to provide basic MRI screening of patients and employees, prepare maintenance and repairs, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to MRI safety. The Technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.

Assists PACs users throughout the organization in the use of PACS product to improve and assure accuracy of the patient imaging medical record. Educate physicians on use of all applicable software. Assist the radiologist, other physicians, and staff in the execution of their duties by acting as a resource person for timely, effective use of electronic and manual files of imaging records. Provide customers comprehensive technology problem determination and resolution using documented procedures and available tools.35 % Retrieve and/or create patients' electronic folders. Access reports and/or other patient exam data via the RIS, PACS and related software systems. Communicate reports and/or image data to the appropriate physician and other customers in a timely manner. Re-print and package images via PACS, and/or CDs for distribution and delivery to physicians and other customers utilizing proper quality assurance measures.

Ensures optimum levels of staffing in accordance with productivity targets. Responsible for clinical staff supervision.
  • Actively collaborates with the leadership team involved with hospital strategic planning to support the department and overall organizational growth. Responsible for overall management and direction of imaging modalities within the radiology discipline. Directs and implements management strategies for the provision of Radiological and Diagnostic Imaging Services, such as nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, CT, ultrasound and mammography. Responsible for clinical staff supervision.
  • Develops, implements and oversees department salary, operation and capital budgets. Works collaboratively with all internal and external customers, physicians, patients, and hospital departments to ensure customer satisfaction. Utilizes experience, judgment and current practice standards to develop and accomplish goals while ensuring compliance with regulatory and certifying standards.
  • Routinely monitors patient satisfaction. Ensures that patient care and imaging services meet safety and risk management standards in addition to local, state and federal accreditation regulations. Confirms that patient records and files are maintained in adherence to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
  • Oversees Medical Imaging IT systems, ensures proper maintenance and functioning of all Medical Imaging equipment and confirms that the department is in compliance with radiation safety practices and regulations. Develops, communicates and monitors department policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • ARRT (R)(MR) or (MR) certification (registered within 6 months of hire)
  • Prior acute care experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
What We're Looking For:
  • Education: 
    • 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
    • Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Minimum of one year of experience in MR, required.
    • NH Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility - Certified and Registered within 6 Months of hire in ARRT RT(R)(MR), required.

    • Applicable state license, required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
