Summary:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The MRI Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The incumbent must be able to provide basic MRI screening of patients and employees, prepare maintenance and repairs, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to MRI safety. The Technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Electronic Imaging Technician at Van Wert Hospital from 8am-230pm 4 days a week. Works under the direction of the Manager of Radiology Support Services (Imaging Service Center). Conducts technical support to internal and external customers by efficiently performing a wide variety of tasks utilizing Picture and Archive Communications systems (PACS) technology with the ultimate goal of accurate and efficient utilization of electronic/manual image and data storage, reporting and distribution methodologies.
Responsibilities And Duties:
40%Receives calls from external and internal customers who are needing images and/or reports. Assists PACs users throughout the organization in the use of PACS product to improve and assure accuracy of the patient imaging medical record. Educate physicians on use of all applicable software. Assist the radiologist, other physicians, and staff in the execution of their duties by acting as a resource person for timely, effective use of electronic and manual files of imaging records. Provide customers comprehensive technology problem determination and resolution using documented procedures and available tools.35 % Retrieve and/or create patients' electronic folders. What We’re Looking For:
- ARRT (R)(MR) or (MR) certification (registered within 6 months of hire)
- Prior acute care experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Education:
- 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
- Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Minimum of one year of experience in MR, required.
- NH Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility - Certified and Registered within 6 Months of hire in ARRT RT(R)(MR), required.
- Hospital Outpatient Department-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR), required.
- Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement
- Applicable state license, required.
- Additional Skills (required): Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
