We are seeking a Director, Strategic Trade Compliance to join our team. In this role you will be the senior authority responsible for overseeing the company’s global import, export, and sanctions compliance programs. This role defines and executes enterprise trade compliance strategy, ensures adherence to U.S. and international trade regulations, and partners with executive leadership to mitigate regulatory risk while enabling efficient global commerce.

The Director leads a global or multi-regional team of trade professionals, governs compliance frameworks and internal controls, drives digital and systems transformation, and serves as the primary liaison with government agencies and regulators.

This position reports the Vice President of Strategic Soucing, Procurement and Supplier Quality and is based in Irvine, CA.

As the Director of Strategic Trade Compliance, you will have the following key responsibilities:

Strategy, Leadership & Governance

• Define and execute the global trade compliance strategy across import, export, and sanctions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, delivering insights on trade risk, regulatory changes, and cost optimization.
• Lead, develop, and scale a global or regional team of trade compliance professionals.
• Establish and govern enterprise trade compliance policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Monitor global legislative and regulatory developments (Customs, ITAR, EAR, OFAC, trade remedies) and guide proactive business response.

Import Compliance (Core Expertise)

• Oversee global import compliance programs ensuring accurate customs declarations, documentation, and controls.
• Act as subject matter authority on tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and partner government agency requirements.
• Optimize use of Free and Preferential Trade Agreements (FTAs) and duty-savings programs.
• Govern Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance and operations, including CTPAT, Importer Self-Assessment (ISA), Duty Drawback, and Reconciliation.
• Manage exposure to trade remedies and regulations, including IEEPA, Sections 232 & 301, antidumping, and countervailing duties.
• Partner with customs brokers and government agencies to resolve audits, inquiries, and compliance issues.

Export Compliance (Advanced Working Knowledge)

• Oversee export compliance programs aligned with ITAR, EAR, and Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR).
• Lead jurisdiction and classification determinations (USML/CCL).
• Manage export licensing and authorizations, including DSP-5 licenses, TAAs, and Commerce licenses.
• Oversee export authorizations through DECCS and SNAP-R.
• Govern deemed export controls, technology control plans, and end-use/end-user/destination restrictions.
• Deliver training and guidance to internal stakeholders on export control requirements.

Sanctions & Restricted Party Compliance

• Govern OFAC sanctions compliance, including restricted party screening and beneficial ownership due diligence.
• Ensure effective screening tools, escalation protocols, and recordkeeping processes are maintained.

Risk Management, Audits & Regulatory Engagement

• Lead internal audits, compliance assessments, investigations, and remediation activities.
• Manage voluntary disclosures and regulatory communications with CBP, BIS, DDTC, and OFAC.
• Represent the company in regulatory matters, audits, and industry associations.

Systems, Data & Transformation

• Drive automation and digital enablement of trade compliance processes.
• Lead enterprise trade system initiatives (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP GTS, Descartes), including design, implementation, and governance.
• Leverage ACE trade data, dashboards, KPIs, and analytics to monitor performance and risk.
• Manage large-scale programs and budgets, ensuring timely delivery, adoption, and sustained outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Legal, Engineering, Finance, Tax, IT, Logistics, and Procurement teams.
• Advise business leaders on sourcing strategies, product design, distribution models, and market entry decisions.
• Embed trade compliance requirements into enterprise processes and systems.

You have:

• Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in international trade compliance within a multinational organization, global consulting firm, or law firm.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Law, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
• Licensed Customs Broker (LCB).
• Regulatory expertise in customs and import compliance (core), export controls under ITAR and EAR and OFAC sanctions compliance
• Leadership: Demonstrated success leading global or matrixed teams and enterprise compliance programs.
• Systems Knowledge: Experience with enterprise trade systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Descartes), ACE Portal, and government platforms (DECCS, SNAP-R).
• Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and executive stakeholder management capabilities.

The College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the School of Computing Instruction for the Atlanta campus located in midtown Atlanta, Georgia. The Chair will have the opportunity to build upon the success of the School and the College of Computing. With more students graduating with a Computer Science degree than any other major at Georgia Tech and the Institute's requirement that every student complete at least one programming course, quality instruction on the foundations of computing has never been more important. The School of Computing Instruction (SCI) was created to serve these critical needs within Georgia Tech and beyond. Our award-winning teaching-focused faculty have three core missions:

Platform for Creativity and Innovation. SCI's creative faculty boldly experiment with new ideas and approaches to pedagogy, while continually re-examining proven methods to ensure their approach is effective and practical across a different set of courses and students. Scalability of Computing Instruction. SCI's faculty design and serve as primary instructors for the College's array of introductory computer science courses, direct the junior design/capstone program for our undergraduate computing majors, and teach a selection of upper-division and graduate level courses that reflect our faculty's varied interests. At the undergraduate level, SCI faculty teach a third of the College's 1000-4000 level course offerings or half of the nearly 9000 undergraduate computing course seats each semester. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Computing, the Chair has overall responsibility for the academic program in the School of Computing Instruction specifically focusing on all budgetary, administrative, academic, fiscal, and personal decisions in conjunction with the mission and goals of the College and Georgia Tech. The chair must have a forward-thinking strategic vision, the ability to implement that vision, and the necessary skills to lead a group of faculty and staff. Additionally, the Chair will provide overall leadership for all the school's teaching components at the undergraduate level. The Chair should establish collaborative and interdisciplinary relationships with others Computing School Chairs, with other leaders in the College, as well as all internal and external constituents at Georgia Tech and abroad. How You'll Contribute:

A Media Sr Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for the scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction of a project throughout its entire lifecycle, from Initiation through Closing phases. However, the PM depends on the help of other people to perform most of the actual activities of the project. A project manager's role is primarily focused around written and verbal communication to all project stakeholders. The PM is responsible for overseeing and performing project management functions on all Broadcast projects, budgets, and scopes. The SPM will act as the person responsible for their assigned projects and have direct control over all project activities. Daily activities include project communications, scheduling, task lists for team participants, managing deliverables from the consulting team, and overseeing the completion of projects. The PM is responsible for completing consulting projects on time, on budget and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction from our customers. Most of this employee's time will be spent managing projects and communicating with all project stakeholders. This person will be helping to constantly improve the established Diversified processes. As the primary interface to the client, the project manager develops a strong long-term relationship. They manage the client relationship, including expectations, communications, and satisfaction.

SCI's faculty design and serve as primary instructors for the College's array of introductory computer science courses, direct the junior design/capstone program for our undergraduate computing majors, and teach a selection of upper-division and graduate level courses that reflect our faculty's varied interests. At the undergraduate level, SCI faculty teach a third of the College's 1000-4000 level course offerings or half of the nearly 9000 undergraduate computing course seats each semester. Further, we reach tens of thousands of GT graduate students and non-GT students through special initiatives, such as MOOCs and the state of Georgia's dual enrollment high school program.

Transparency and Meaningful Dialogue. While the main source of recognition we desire is from the numerous learners our faculty reach, we seek to foster meaningful dialogue and to share what works and what does not work in practice, in order to inspire others to attempt new ideas in computing education. We will use SCI's platform to encourage the distribution of information and (of course) to learn from others. We aspire to be leaders in the conversation on computing education.

Atlanta, GA

The School of Computing Instruction (SCI) at Georgia Institute of Technology within the College of Computing was recently founded to recognize the significant contributions of CS teaching-track faculty. We invite applications for multiple full-time and long-term faculty positions. The official appointment of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will be made depending on past teaching experience. Both positions are offered with renewable contracts with an expectation to start in 2025 on Georgia Institute of Technology Atlanta campus. Summer teaching for additional compensation is typically available. In addition, SCI faculty are typically allowed to teach at one of Georgia Tech's multiple study-abroad campuses (Berlin, Barcelona, Metz, etc.) during the summer.

The top candidates will be invited to Atlanta for an on-site interview, which involves giving a sample lecture.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to providing high-quality undergraduate teaching, primarily within the technical communications component of the College's capstone design program. Opportunities to teach graduate courses are also available, as candidates will be matched to courses for which they are the best fit. In addition to teaching, there will be an expectation to participate in service at the School, College, and Institute level. Candidates are also encouraged to engage in scholarship and curriculum development. As part of its budget, SCI earmarks funding for these sorts of activities and makes it available to faculty.
