Join a dedicated team as a locum tenens hematology/oncology physician (hematologist-oncologist) at a thriving outpatient cancer center on the southern Oregon coast. This locum physician assignment in Coos Bay, Oregon (97420) offers the chance to provide high-quality outpatient oncology care while enjoying the region’s coastline, forests, and outdoor recreation.

• Team: 3 physicians, 2 APPs, radiation oncology support
  
• Patient Volume: 10–15 outpatients/day; inpatient rounding limited to admitted chemotherapy patients
  
• Case Mix: ~80% oncology / 20% hematology (most benign hematology referred out)

• Board certified in Hematology and Oncology (required)
  
• Active Oregon medical license required (IMLC/Compact not accepted)
  
• DEA registration (required)
  
• CAQH login & password required at time of offer
  
• Self-query NPDB within the last month (required at presentation)
  
• Meets criteria for medical staff membership and clinical privileges
  
• Clean background and no significant malpractice history strongly preferred
  
• Minimum 1 year of independent practice experience in hematology/oncology
  
• Ability to complete 4 hours of unpaid EPIC EMR training

• Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care as a locum hematologist/oncologist
  
• Evaluate new solid tumor diagnoses and manage longitudinal care plans
  
• Develop and manage systemic therapy plans (chemotherapy/infusion oversight), monitor treatment response and toxicities
  
• Collaborate with APPs, radiation oncologists, and multidisciplinary team members for coordinated, patient-centered care
  
• Participate in 1:4 call rotation, including one weekend per month
  
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC EMR, following site policies and quality standards
  
• Support continuity of care during physician retirement/relocation and ensure smooth patient transitions

Required Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need of a Visa sponsorship
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Knowledge of PLC/HMI/Controls programming languages
• Ability to update and troubleshoot a range of electrical or instrumentation systems
• Ability to read and analyze electrical schematics
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work well in a team or individual environment and be a self-starter
• Ability to pass an Electrical Aptitude Test
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

• Ability to understand continuous and batch process control strategies
• Possess a working understanding of the production process
• Ability to configure and program a variety of control systems including PLC and HMI systems
• Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling
• Automation, Electrical, and / or Instrumentation experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens
• Design and implementation knowledge of plant digital business technologies

Principal Accountabilities

• This role involves physical activity in a food processing environment, which generally requires a moderate amount of exertion on a fairly regular basis-involving bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing more than 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds. Walking or standing for extended periods of time will be required as well as the occasional use of stairs and/or ladders
• The work may also involve other exertions, conditions or exposures (e.g. heat, cold, dust). This position is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces, moving mechanical parts and fast paced warm/cool environments. Personal protective equipment use is required in all areas of the facility
• Execution of automation solutions used for controlling plant process. Will involve design and configuration of control systems and oversight of electrical and instrumentation functions related to projects. Will be required to obtain knowledge of plant processes
