CNC Supervisor
Job Description
Position: CNC Process Coach
Duration: 6-month contract + extensions + opportunity for direct hire
Pay rate: $30-35/hr+
Locations: Dearborn, MI
Shift: afternoon & midnight
Must Haves:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience working within an automotive manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of supervisory experience managing unionized work force or hourly employees
- Knowledge and understanding of machining: CNC machines (lapping, grinding, honing)
- Comfortable working midnights (10pm-6am) or afternoons (2pm-10pm) and up to 10 hours OT each week (could be weekend work)
Day to Day:
- Responsible for managing and supervising 50-80 unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput
- Coach safety, quality and productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work for the assembly lines and through process confirmation, verify that the line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts
- Support continuous improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
- Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
- Meet First Time Through, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets
- Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
- Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
